product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

No issues at all.

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

The transaction went great. Delivered on the time I was told good product

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

Perfect OEM quality!!!

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:
2015 Audi Q7

Thanks George

  • How do I get Light Signals to my Truck Bed Camper Shell/Topper Dome and Brake Required
To get the brake and dome light functions on your 2003 Dodge Ram to your camper shell or topper the easiest place to find both is at the third brake light. There you will have the third brake light signal and the bed light/dome light that illuminates the rear. Use a circuit tester like Hook Probe Circuit Tester part # PTW2993 to identify which of the wires running into the light have power when you hit the brake and what wire has power only when the dome light is turned on. These will...

  • Which 7-Way Circuit Does Battery Positive Post Wire Run To Typically
The wire that runs from the battery would normally run to the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way which is the pin in the 1:00 position. Now if you don't have a need for this circuit you don't have to make this connection as it's not required for the other lighting functions to work or the brake controller circuit.

The 12-volt accessory circuit from the 7-way can be used to maintain a charged trailer mounted battery, but it is not capable of delivering enough amperage to recharge a depleted battery. If the battery becomes discharged, a battery charger like the CTEK # CTEK56353 can be used to recharge the battery. The # 30717 is wired so that the black wire provides the 12-volt accessory feed. To connect this circuit to the vehicle battery, you will need a length of 10 gauge wire to connect the black...

On some GM vehicles, there are some additional connections that need to be made under the hood to provide the 12 volt power to the 7-Way. We usually see this on trucks but it is possible that the full-size vans and SUVs could have the same problem. I have included a link to an FAQ that will help. It is also possible that everything is hooked up under the hood but a fuse could just be missing or blown. You can consult the vehicle owners manual and/or the legend on the power distribution...

  • What are the Pin Functions on a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 1995 Ford F-250
The typical 7-Way on a vehicle is wired as described below if looking at the back of the connector where the wires attach: 1:00 = running lights 3:00 = left turn/brake lights 5:00 = ground 7:00 = output from brake controller 9:00 = right turn/brake lights 11:00 = 12 volt power Center = reverse lights I have included a link to our wiring FAQ that includes diagrams.
