Troubleshooting Boat Trailer that Can't be Backed Up with New Truck
Question:
I have a boat trailer with trailer brakes, just got a new truck and now it will lock up when backing up once it stops me it will then allow me to back up again for 10 ft or so and lock up again I have a 2021 Nissan Titan and I have the lights plugged in as well as the trailer pin in This didn’t happen when I had my 2020 gmc

Sounds like your trailer has surge brakes that have an electric reverse lock out which is supposed to allow the trailer to be backed up, but since your new truck isn't activating the solenoid that tells me that the reverse light circuit of the trailer wiring isn't active. So what you can do is run a wire from the center pin of the 7-way to tapped into your vehicles reverse light circuit and it will work like it needs to.
