Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Close up of prg80235 tread

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Match Mounted and Balanced Trailer Tire Assembly

In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.

To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.

Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I purchased this as a spare for my utility trailer in case I am more than 20 km from my home. I haven't needed to use it yet. It is worth the peace of mind to know that I am not leaving equipment on the side of the road unattended.

The 14 in, 8 ply trailer tires & rims worked perfectly on my 2006 2720 SD Trailmanor. Traveled 150 miles no swaying, no heat build up, just a smooth ride..

I was preparing my trailer for a road trip in a few days and on a Saturday placed an order for two of these tires on modular wheels, along with new hub assemblies, because the website indicated that this item should arrive on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I failed to notice that the delivery date only pertained to the first tire and wheel. The following day I received notice that my order would ship in about 7 days which was unacceptable for my trip timeline. I called etrailer.com Monday morning to cancel my original order and place another, but this time with tires on wagon wheels, which were confirmed to be on hand. The phone representative was amazingly friendly and cooperative in handling my situation. My new order, which also included hubs and tie-down rings, shipped that day and arrived the following day! It was only after installing the new hubs and wheel assemblies that evening that I noticed I had received one "C" and one "D" load rated tire. I called again to see if I could return the pair of mismatched tire and wheel assemblies for something similar that was available for immediate shipment and was advised that I could but would be responsible for the shipping cost ($38.99) of the one assembly that was properly fulfilled by my order. I initially agreed to those terms and placed a third order for slightly lower grade tires that would arrive in time for my trip but soon afterwards changed my mind and called back to cancel that order and arrange for a replacement of the one incorrect tire and wheel assembly. Each time I called, the etrailer representative was very courteous and eager to help resolve my problem. The replacement tire and wheel arrived a couple of days too late for my trip but I am completely satisfied with the quality and appearance of these items, having since completed a 500+ mile trip with them and experienced no problems.

A while ago I bought a trailer which I had planned to turn into a tiny home. Life happened and plans changed, so the trailer sat in my driveway for two years, during which the already-old tires began to rot. I decided the best move was to sell the trailer, but obviously I have to replace the tires first. I found that ordering the tires already mounted was the best option for me (rather than jacking my trailer up, taking the tires off one side at a time, leaving the trailer jacked up and taking the old wheels somewhere to get new tires put on them... then repeating the process with the other side.) I have no experience with tire specs, wheel sizes, etc. But between reading the specs on the existing tires and the helpful measurement information on this site I was able to order the exact right wheels for my trailer. I ordered two (of four) to start because money's tight, but they arrived on time and in perfect condition, and I replaced the old ones in about 40 minutes. They look great and are perfectly inflated. Couldn't be happier! So simple I ordered the other two immediately after writing this review! Now I can sell my trailer and make that money right back!

Ordered radials to replace puncture prone bias ply tires after a recent flat - again. Tires arrived 2 days after ordering. Packaged well, no damaged, mounted and inflated. The tread looks like car tires and they fill up the fender well. I have a set of Providers on my travel trailer and they have performed well, hoping these will too. I only gave 4 stars because I have no basis to rate their performance but will check back later and share an update.

by:

Peace of mind... the change from 65 mph (top non-sustainable speed) from the OEM tires to these with 81 mph (top non-sustainable speed) has given me real peace of mind after the 1 if the OEM tires blew out on the FL. turnpike going about 65 mph taking the fender & wiring out with it. That is when I did some research on the speed rating for trailer tires! What an eye-opener. So I opted for these with the M speed rating and am very pleased. We have been humming along about 70 mph with no trepidations. Thanks.

by:

My tiny trailer came with 12" 55mph rated tires, which were not up to a 14,000 mile 50 day trip around the US, many at 70mph.

These 15" wheels and tires, rated at 81mph, have been GREAT! Took a 22 day 7500 mile trip across 80 in USA and back on TC1 in Canada...most at 70+ mph! I love them.

by:

Had the size I was looking for with a good price. Fast delivery was a plus. I would recommend etrailer for your trailer needs.

I ordered these wheels and tires for an older fixer-up (I honestly had no idea how much I was going to have to "fix HER up!)travel trailer. They arrived within 24 hours!!!! I was pleasantly shocked and amazed at the fantastic service! Those tires have now been to the Great Lakes, northwest of Chicago, Cincinnati and to local campgrounds. Thank you for providing the means to enjoy family time with my 4 grandchildren and 92 yr old Mom!

by:

I have odd size wheel and rim. Worked great, I have not put many miles on the trailer, but enough to know all is fine

by:

These are great tires and wheels; I replaced both tires/wheels and the spare. They were delivered fast and in perfect condition. We had decided to replace ours because we wanted higher load capacity tires.
If you have old tires on your trailer make sure you check them often. And don't forget to check the inside inside area that's hard to see. I got lucky and replaced mine before it blew and I didn't even know it was bad!

by:

I replaced the wheels/tires that came on my TSC trailer because they were so far out of round you couldn't stand to pull the trailer other than very short trips. I put these on the trailer and it was actually enjoyable to pull. The main demand for this was my wife pulled this trailer behind her Nissan Cube from Ohio to Southern California and back while I got to ride my motorcycle. ;o) Good times. Thanks for the great wheels/tires.

by:

I haven't used the new tires and wheels as of yet. They were ordered to replace a15 year old set on a small Travel Trailer that I have been restoring. I bought the Providers for two reasons, the 81mph rating as I tow outside of California quite a bit and most trailer tires don't like 65-70mph speeds. I also liked the more street friendly tread as I live in the mountains and braking on wet or snowy roads is critical. Tires and wheels arrived very quickly and packaged well. I have heard some folks complain about issues removing the stickers (a heat gun or blow dryer makes removal very easy). My only issue was one tire had a couple of gouges in it that appeared to be from when the tire was mounted. A call to etrailer and an e-mailed picture and they had a replacement headed my way. They also provided a UPS return shipping label at no cost. As has been my experience in the past with these folks, etrailer goes above and beyond to provide some of the best customer service I have ever experienced (having owned my own business for 40+ years I have had many occasions to deal with various companies customer service departments). Good products shipped in a timely manner at a fair price with exceptional customer service, what more can a person ask for!

  • How to Determine Wheel Offset When Replacing Trailer Tires and Wheels
A large majority of trailer wheels have a zero offset because this helps them to better and more evenly support heavy loads. This is likely the case on your gooseneck trailer. With that being said it's still a good idea to measure your existing wheels to be sure before finding a suitable replacement. To determine a wheel's offset simply take the tire/wheel off the trailer and measure from the mounting surface of the wheel - where it actually mounts to the hub - to the inside and outside...

When you're upgrading/swapping tires, at minimum, you'll want to swap them all out at the same time; running tires with different tire pressures creates a situation where the lower air pressure tires will be in contact with the pavement much more so than the ones rated for a higher pressure. This could create more wear and tear, as well as generate more heat and thus be more prone to blowouts on those lower rated tires. The tire pressure you'll want to run your tires at is going to be...
