Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I needed new steel wheels for my 1964 Ford Country Squire wagon, I found exactly what I needed from trailer.com. The wheels are of good quality and come powder coated gloss black, they fit as expected! Thanks etrailer.com

by:

Great looking rim accompanied by baby moon hub caps. Used for a teardrop camper.

by:

They are great wheels. Work great on my 64-1/2 Mustang with 215 R15 60 tires while I waiting on the permanent wheels.

by:

It’s perfect ! I’ve been looking for a rim for my trailer that matches the two wheels I have .
15 inch 5 lug on a 4 1/2” bolt pattern . Thanks !

by:

We purchased a 1962 Shasta camper that came with a standard rim spare tire. We wanted to mount on back bumper and have matching rim/baby moon as the camper. We took the spare tire, new wheel and a set of porta-walls to our local tire shop and now have a great looking spare tire on the back of our camper!

by:

Added new painted rims and tires with moon caps. Fast and accurate delivery

by:

etrailer was able to ship me a new replacement wheel and baby moon hubcaps in four days after experiencing a flat between Miami and Fort Meyers on the Alligator Alley 1600 miles from home! Since I had to drive a mile and a half on the rim to find a safe place to change the flat I decided to replace the wheel . I’ve had two of these wheels on my trailer for over 18,000 miles with no complaints. Thanks George and etrailer for the fast response.

by:

Great wheels, high quality and made in the USA. Looks awesome on my utility trailer.

by:

I received help from etrailer on making the correct choice of wheels for my vintage trailer. I did paint them white. I also bought the Baby Moon Caps. I am very happy with them.

I scraped the wheel it didn’t work I was told it would work with disc brakes. I guess I was lye to, but that all right I will not buy any thing else from Etrailer again

by:

Wheels arrived yesterday well packaged. Very nice powder coating. High quality wheel.
I didn’t calculate the offset correctly. Will need 1/4” spacers for the 225/70/15 trailer tires. That will work as the lugs are long.
Thanks for the nice customer service and follow up, Mike.
Good customer service is definitely lacking nowadays so it is appreciated and a professional plus.

by:

Perfect. Fast delivery.

Excellent product with fast shipping

I wanted to replace my factory-installed travel trailer wheels and tires from 14.5" to 15" diameter, plus improve the wear resistance to a Load D rating. We still wanted to maintain the Retro look of our trailer, so we opted for the wheels that supported the original shiny half-moon hubcaps. After receiving all the parts (one damaged hubcap was quickly replaced; I recommend shipping them in a different box than the heavy wheels), I spray-painted the wheels a bright red, to support the original color scheme, then had them mounted and balanced by the local tire shop. I then installed them; they look great!
Paula was a terrific help with the order processing; made it all go quite seamlessly!

by:

This is our repurposed 1959 travel trailer bar. We wanted to keep as much vintage charm as possible in her revocation. These brand new tires, wheels, and baby moon caps really brought the look together! Great products! Great prices! Great customer service! I will highly recommend you guys, and will do business in the future with this company!

Thank you very much!!

by:

After we purchased the wheels and Baby Moon hub caps from you, we took our vintage camper trailer on an eight thousand mile tour of the Southwest. The products performed without any problem and are ready to go again.
Thank you, also for the personal attention you folks gave us at the time of purchase to ensure that we received the correct product the first time.

by:

Ordered my wheels and was immediately contacted regarding availability. Awesome customer provided. Tracking information and delivery are A+. I highly recommend etrailer. Great product, great service and great people.

  • Will the Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap Fit on a Toyota bB Steel Wheel
The Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap # AM90086 that you referenced will fit 13 inch, 14 inch, and 15 inch 5-lug conventional trailer wheels. It has an outside diameter of 9-5/8 inches and an inside diameter of 9-1/4 inches. As long as your Toyota bB steel wheel fits in those parameters, then the Center Cap will fit. I have attached a picture of part # AM20504 which demonstrates the 3 nubs that your wheel will need to hold the cap in place.

  • Replacement Wheels for 1938 GMC Pickup Truck
Conventional steel wheels like the # AM20514 often fit older trucks like your 1938 GMC pickup. However, these are only rated for trailer use. These 15" wheels have an offset of 0 and a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. A hubcap will fit but it would be like the # AM981306 which is slightly larger than your 7-1/2" to 8" measurement with a 10-9/16" overall diameter. If you have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern then the correct wheel would be the # AM20504. This would use a slightly smaller hubcap like...

  • Black 15 Inch Wheels with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern and 2-5/8 Inch Center Hole for Cronkite Trailer
We have a 15x6 inch, # AM20504. This wheel has a 2.62 pilot hole and the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern with a 1/2 inch positive offset. So, the mounting surface is closer to the outside of the wheel moving the tire and wheel closer to the trailer frame. I have linked video reviews of both wheels for you. Based on the measurements I believe you need the 15x6 inch version, # AM20504.

  • Why isnt There Center Cap for Trailer Wheel # AM20504
We don't have any center caps for the # AM20504 that you referenced due to the pilot diameter you mentioned of 2.62 inches. This wheel normally uses a baby moon cover which is why like the part # AM90086.

  • Vintage Style Trailer Rims With Baby Moon Cap
We don't carry vehicle rims, but we are aware that many people use trailer wheels like our Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel with Offset - 15" x 6" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - Black, # AM20504 along with the Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap - Chrome-Plated Steel - Qty 1, # AM90086 for a vintage look. We cannot recommend trailer wheels for vehicle use, but these rims look very nice on vintage trailers.

  • What Size Trailer Wheel Will Fit a 7.00 x 15 Inch Tire
The closest size to a 7.00x15 tire would be a 225/75-15. These tires can fit on a 6 to 7 inch wide rim. But they are a little taller at 28.4 inches versus 27.88 for a 7.00x15. So basically, going to a 6 inch wide rim would be ideal. The black steel wheel that you have referenced, # AM20504, is a 15x6 inch with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. But it also has a positive 5mm offset meaning the tire will be closer to the trailer frame by 5mm. You would have to make sure you have the available space...

You should not have a problem using the Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap, # AM90086, with the 15 inch wheels on your 1938 Chevy Master Deluxe as long as the wheels you are using are the standard steel car wheels. For a 15 inch conventional steel wheel with a 5 bolt pattern, I recommend looking at the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20504. This black powder coated, 15 inch steel trailer wheel features a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. You will just want to make sure this matches the bolt pattern of your existing hubs. • Replacement Wheel Recommendation for Ford KH Wheel on older Trailer
Sounds like you are looking for a "conventional style" of trailer wheel. The closest match that would work for you would be the Dexstar part # AM20504. It's a 15 inch diameter wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern like you need. It has a width of 6 inches which is 1/2 inch wider than what you mentioned but would still work well. This also has a center pilot diameter of 2-5/8 inches like you mentioned as well.

  • Can the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheels Be Used on a Vehicle
The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel part # AM20504 is primarily designed for trailers but if the offset (+0.5"), bolt pattern (5 on 4-1/2"), dimensions (15" diameter x 6" wide), and capacity (1,820 lbs) will work with your vehicle then I don't see any reason they could not be use. For a stylish finish, I recommend adding the Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap part # AM90086.

  • Can Trailer Wheels be Used on a Passenger Vehicle
Technically if the bolt pattern and weight ratings are compatible with your vehicle then you can fit trailer wheels on a car but the biggest problem you are going to have is proper tire placement.
