Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Unbelievable service and quality, and hey these wheels are made in the U.S.A., that's hard to find now days. I ordered 4-16"x 6" 8 lug wheels at 4:20 pm on Tuesday and received them 11:00 am Wednesday morning. I am very satisfied to say the least. Thanks Steve S.

The wheels are still doing great and Im still just as satisfied as I was when I bought them. The paint looks like its holding up good. Thanks Steve

by:

Needed an additional wheel for a spare as we have had three flats at one time and I didn’t have two at the time. This fits perfect on the trailer. I have not used it on the trailer going down the road so I will update my rating accordingly but if needed.

High quality wheel rim reasonably price d.

Trailer wheels still look like new. Very pleased with the product quality. Folks at etrailer always friendly and ready to help every time I`ve called to order parts. Delivery on time as promised.

by:

It's difficult to rate tire rims because they're metal and one expects them to hold up. I bought mine for a livestock trailer because one of my rims was either lost or stolen. It matched up well with my other rims and has held up just as was expected

by:

Rim is perfect for an extra spare on the car hauler.

by:

Rim matched trailer,PJ,
good buy.

by:

The wheels are great. We used them to replace the corroded OEM units.
We have put many thousands of trouble free miles on the trailer with the AM 20750 wheels during the past year. Domestically manufactured by Dexstar to very high standards, they are an excellent product. As always, etrailer is top on value, service and price.

Overall the B&W Companion seems to be a nice unit, but disappointing that it arrived a little beatup with chips and a nice scratch. It arrived before the truck did so the unboxing waited a couple weeks. Guess I should have unboxed right away instead of waiting until I needed to install it.

The install was fairly easy and uneventful since lifting it into the bed may have been the hardest part. It look about an hour including tie to track down various tools and supplies. With the OEM pucks in our new Ram 3500 it didn't take many tools to complete the install and since the camper isn't here I'll probably get to use some of the tools again when I find out the middle height isn't quite right for the trailer, but at least adjusting the height and position is pretty straight-forward. It's heavy enough (probably good since it will pull some weight) and takes up enough space that it may not get removed very often unless a 2nd strong back is available regualrly. Depending on how often we use the camper, maybe the hitch will only come out in the winter and go back in come spring.

We'll need to add a lock or two so the hitch doesn't wander off since it's so easy to remove that a couple strong backs could easily make off with it.

by:

Exact match to my other trailer wheels.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for, Etrailer processed and shipped my immediately. Received it in 3days

by:

My husband really likes the new wheels. He said it made his old Dodge truck look great!

The wheels are still working fine.Great product!

by:

Great price for the rim

by:

I needed a trailer rim that I couldn’t find without buying a tire with it . Etrailer was the 1st to come up online . I ordered 2 rims (1 for a spare ) and saved probably 400$. And as a bonus they arrived 2 days early.Buying online seems to be the way of the future. I will save this one to my favorites for future purchases. No issues, on time delivery and good customer service.

by:

Amy’s customer service was Great! I love etrailer! Thank you for the help.

by:

Got a set for a trailer we built and they are great. Accepted the tires we got from etrailer and no complaints here. Definitely recommend etrailer to anyone in the market

by:

Packed securely and shipped quickly, wheels are as described.

by:

Great product, great price

by:

I am very pleased with my purchase and delivery . I put the wheels to good use immediately, and they performed as expected.

The wheels for my trailer were delivered quickly and packaged very well for protection. Also had a great price. Excellent service same as the last item I ordered from etrailer

It has been great

by:

Wheels came very badly packaged. The powder coating was chipped on all 4 wheels I bought. There was a mistake on my part ordering as I ended up ordering twice in a half hour because the order didn’t look like it went through. I was charged for 8 wheels even though they only shipped 6. They tried their best to fix the problems. I had to spray paint all the wheels I kept. Shouldn’t have to paint brand new wheels because of their cheap packaging. Very, very disappointing on how the wheels arrived. One of the lug hole had to be filed and repainted on each wheel because of the way the rims were hung during the powder coating process. I was expecting a much better experience then what I got

by:

Appears to be a very good quality product. it got here in two days which was a great help in getting my trailer back in operation.

Still working out just fine a year later.

Easy to order, reasonable price, fast and free shipping!

by:

These are standard rims I’m using to replace deteriorating rims on my trailer. The rims and valves are of good quality. Five stars to sales rep Vicky, who is always extremely helpful as well as knowledgeable.

by:

These are a great made in USA trailer wheel. The finish on the cosmetic areas is perfect, other ares have some flaws. One came with some glue or something on it, it was on the inside. I tried to clean it off to no avail. The packaging cold be better for this product. Just wrapping them in paper and cutting the box down before its stapled would help tremendously! Bottom line is I am happy. The tires his any of the scratches on the rim face, and they look perfect on the trailer.

by:

The wheels look great. I haven't purchased tires for them yet but will soon. One package was torn but the wheels only had minor scratches on the back side of the wheel, so no problem. These wheels will allow me to upgrade to load range E tires on my RV and have a little more piece of mind when towing. Sorry, but no pictures yet.

  • Recommended 16" x 6" Steel Wheel With 8 on 6-1/2" Bolt pattern That Is Made In The USA
The Taskmaster Steel Wheel # TTW660865WS4 you were looking at is made overseas, but I do have an American made option. I recommend going with the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 16" x 6" Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - White Powder Coat # AM20750 which is the same exact size and bolt pattern as the wheel you were looking at, but is made in the USA. I included a video of the # AM20750 for you to take a look at.

  • How to Determine if a Tire is Compatible With a Rim
The tire needs to fit the diameter and width of the rim, which for the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20750 is 16" diameter and 6" wide. I looked up the tire you mentioned and while it will fit the diameter of the Dexstar # AM20750 there was no information about the wheel width it needed. For a ST235/80R16 tire that will fit a 16" x 6" wheel a great option is the Castle Rock Radial Tire # LHCK401; this is a load range E tire with a maximum capacity of 3,520 lbs at 80 psi.

  • How to Find Your Tire Size if the You Can't Read the Sidewall Numbers
In order to determine the sidewall numbers (your tire size), there are a couple of measurements and equations that need to be made, which could become a little complicated. I've linked to a help article that explains what each number/letter represents, but I will break down how we can get to that number. Taking a number like ST175/80-R13, we can look at each piece to find out what to measure. The ST is a letter that represents what a tire is used for (standard trailer, passenger, etc.),...

  • What is the Capacity of a 16" x 6" Trailer Wheel with 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern
I will be happy to help. The first place to look is on the wheel itself. Sometimes the capacity is stamped into the back side of a wheel or there could be a sticker with this information on it. If that information is not available please let me know the tire size and load range along with the bolt pattern of the wheels and I can narrow it down for you.

  • Can Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel Support up to 120 psi
A wheel's maximum psi is determined by the valve stem installed into it. Since the Dexstar # AM20750 doesn't include a valve stem you can use # AM20906 and mount your G rated tire onto the rim.

  • Can 235/85-16 Tires be Used to Replace 235/80-16 Tires on a 5th Wheel Trailer
You can use LT tires on a trailer as long as the LT is at the end of the size. Otherwise the tires are not constructed properly for trailer use. The wheels may have a sticker on them or information stamped into the back that says what the psi rating is. Normally this is not an issue and it has more to do with the psi rating on the valve stem being used. If you want to go to the larger size and have enough clearance above the existing tires (the new size will be about 0.35 inches closer...

This rim has a weight capacity of 4,460 pounds. This rim has an imporved torque retention technology that helps keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer. • Trailer Wheel Pilot Hole Diameter is Too Small for New Hub and Drum Assemblies
If the pilot hole on the wheel was larger than 4-3/4 inches, and the wheel is center on the hub using the lug nut rather than wheel bolts, it would not matter. But since the wheel pilot hole is smaller, you will not be able to use the hubs you purchased without also replacing the wheels. I went out to the warehouse and measured a Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, # 42866UC3, to determine the diameter of the center portion that goes through the pilot hole of the wheel. • How to Determine Wheel Offset
Most trailer wheels have a zero offset. This is because a zero offset allows the wheel to handle the maximum load by distributing the the load equally to both sides of the wheel. To determine if your trailer wheels have an offset, you will want to remove a wheel from your trailer and measure from the mounting surface of the wheel, where the wheel mounts to the hub, and measure to the inside bead and to the outside bead. The difference will give you the offset. If you are unable to determine...

The Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20750 that you referenced can fit on hubs with either 1/2-inch diameter or 9/16-inch diameter wheel studs. You will need to determine what size studs are on your hubs in order to choose lug nuts with the correct diameter and thread pitch. Part # AM26NR is a 1/2-inch diameter with 20 threads per inch and a standard 60-degree cone shape. Part # 6-53 will fit 9/16-inch lugs.

I may have another option but we do not offer a wheel the same design as the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20750 that you were looking at in black with offset. The only black 16"x6" wheel with offset and the 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern you are looking for is the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20766 which has a 1/2" positive offset which will move the wheel closer to the frame of the trailer. Most trailer wheels have a zero offset. This is because they are not meant to provide a smooth ride since they are for carrying loads. • How to Determine the Weight Rating of a Wheel for Load Range G Tires
A common misconception about tires and wheels is that they have seperate weight ratings. Although some wheels may have a "weight rating", they are really rated for whatever size tire fits on them. The weight rating of a wheel is actually tied to the type of valve stem it has. If the valve stem is rated for a lower psi rating then the "weight rating" of the wheel will be lower. For example; The valve stem part # AM20904 is rated for psi up to 80 while the part # AM20906 has a psi rating...
