Today we'll be taking a look at the Peterson Clearance and Side Marker Trailer Light Kit. This is going to include your light and the mounting bracket to get this installed. That mounting bracket provides us with a housing for our light and then it also has our ground connection there and the wiring coming off of it so we can get everything hooked up and lit. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. It has bulbs that are incandescent, but it is a sealed waterproof housing and lens unit, so it is submersible. You can use this on your boat trailers and it'll still stay lit without it getting any damage from the water.

Also just makes an overall long lasting light so there's no dirt or debris you can get in there either.We'll have two incandescent bulbs in there. We'll go ahead and hook this up to my power source so you get an idea of how bright that will be. When I hook my power to the one wire coming off of it and then my ground to that little terminal there, that little ring. Turn on my power, you'll see our light will come on. This is a PC rated light, so that means that it's visible both when you're looking straight at it and from the side so it can be used as a side marker and a clearance light at the same time, so you only need one light to do that function for you if it's mounted properly, that is.

So this is just a surface mount to the trailer. It does not come with any hardware to mount this, so you will have to pick some up on your own and you can remove this from the housing.These two tabs on either side, if you get a flat bladed screwdriver and kind of pry out on that, it'll free up the tab on the light and then you can separate the light from the housing. That will allow you to then mount it up with some screws or some hardware. Again, that is sold separately. This is DOT compliant.

Again, PC rated. Dimensions for the light on its own, it's about three and seven eighths inches long to the end of the tabs. The bracket overall is just over four inches at about four and an eighth inches there. The width of the light is a little bit more than the bracket and that's about one and an eighth. And then our bracket is just about one inch deep or one eighth inch thick there.

Overall height of just the light is about an inch and an eighth. And then with the bracket in place, it's a little bit taller. It's about an inch and five eighths so just over a half inch, an inch and a half. The distance between our two mounting holes, center to center is about three inches.Our wiring coming off of the bracket is about five inches long. It does have a one year limited warranty from Peterson, and that's going to do it for our look at the Peterson Clearance Side Marker Trailer Light.
