BoatBuckle's second-generation bow tie-down strap bolts to the frame of your trailer and simplifies the securing and unloading of your boat. It is designed to keep constant tension on the strap and requires minimal ratcheting to secure your load. Instead of always having to find and store a tie-down strap that hooks to the tie-down anchors on the front of your boat, you will find that BoatBuckle's bow strap is always right where you need it. Just pull up on the hook and strap, attach the hook to the bow, and then operate the ratchet several times. No more dealing with extra webbing or looking for the tie-down strap. And when unloading, simply push the release button on the ratchet, free the hook from the bow, and let the strap retract back down into the ratchet.

Installation

This strap comes with the mounting hardware that you'll need to install it. It is recommended that you use anti-seize (LT37616 - sold separately) to ensure that the nut is properly tightened down over the bolt. You can use the included bolt to mount the ratchet directly to the trailer frame or crossmember. If you need to angle the ratchet strap or move it a little farther off the frame, a universal mounting kit (IMF14254 - sold separately) is available.

Note: A bow tie-down should always be used along with a winch strap and a set of transom or gunwale tie-downs. All straps and cables should be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). To determine the maximum load, or break strength, of the strap, simply multiply the WLL by 3. The WLL is always one-third (1/3) of the maximum load.

Boat buckles are awsome !

by:

I’m really excited about this bow strap. I’m using this model along with BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps to secure my boat to the trailer on road trips to the lake. Great peace of mind. Very Happy with my purchases. Etrailer has great products, pricing and great service!
Thank you Etrailer team!

by:

Equipment was in original packing with all components and instructions. Easy install. I could have made a DIY strap to hold down the bow as a third safety belt. The boat buckle is more secure and easily operated by one person. I will look to etrailer.com first for future trailer and accessories in the future.

by:

The bow buckle its self is really good. Just like the boat buckle transom straps that came on the boat new.

The only issue that I had was the nut that came with the bolt for installation was the wrong nut. I had to use a nut, bolt and loctite that I had laying around.

Etrailer shipped the product super fast.

by:

This is my second purchase. It is a great product, and fit my needs great

by:

We recently installed a set of boat buckles and I have to tell you they are everything they claim to be and more. Installation was easy, and in use, they are the fastest, easiest way to secure our boat that I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you so much for a great product. Here are a couple of pictures.

by:

Does a great job!

by:

Very sturdy well-built unit. Did exactly what I needed.

by:

Love the boat buckles, put this on my Triton bow tie down...works great! Very fast shipping and great service from Etrailer as always!

by:

Quality product competitive pricing reasonable shipping I firmly believe I will not have to worry about this component for a lifetime of trailer ownership

by:

This is a great produce that keeps the bow of your boat secure to the trailer. I highly recommend. Customer service with etrailer is amazing. I have ordered many products from them in the past. I am sure I will order more in the future.

by:

This appears to be a quality product. I installed the bow tie-down and a pair of BoatBuckle stern tie-downs on my 26' center console and new trailer. Installation is simple and connecting/disconnecting the tie-downs takes seconds. I anticipate a long service life and will be washing them with one of the salt-dissolving washes, along with the trailer brakes, to help assure that.

Still love the Boat Buckles. They make loading and unloading easier and faster, a big plus at todays crowded boat ramps.

by:

Easy to install--attached to an existing bolt for the spare tire holder. Easy to use and works great to hold down the bow of a 16' skiff. I sprayed all metal parts I could reach with CRC Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor. Will be interested to see how long the tiedown holds up in a saltwater environment. Only a couple of weeks old at this point.

Still works great. I am pleasantly surprisedno sign of rust. Dont know why I gave it only 4 stars. No problems whatsoever.

I ordered the Boat Buckle bow tie down and the product was as advertised and the service I received from etrailer.com was excellent!! I will definitely use etrailer in the future for all my trailer needs. Thanks again!!

Still working as good as the first time I used it!

by:

Great product, installed easy.I feel better now it is installed I don't worry about boat bouncing going down the rough Texas roads

by:

Makes securing my boat at the boat ramp a breeze.

by:

It is so nice to have the straps on the trailer, instead of storing the straps on the boat or RV and then remembering where you put them.

Its nice not to have to search for my tiedowns because they are always on my trailer

by:

Awesome system! Holds tight and releases easily. Retracts out of the way. It really adds a sense of security knowing that the bow is held tight.

by:

This product works great for our 17 foot aluminum boat. It is simple and fast to use. It was very easy to install. I highly recommend this product. It saves you time keeping track of your tie downs and straps.

by:

Once installed, it will work great. However, there is limited space on the unit in which to place a socket or wrench to tighten the mounting bolt. The nut for the bolt required an excessive amount of effort to tighten. The bolt was very long ; so long that the nut could not be fully tightened without an open-end wrench, even tho I had deep-well sockets. I understand that a long bolt can cover the many possibilities for the thickness of various trailer frames, but better information on the website about its size and how to install would be helpful

by:

I did received the product in a timely manner and for a good price. Installation was simple with the one bolt solution. It is keeping the bow of my 25' C-Dory in place while trailering...

Towing my 25 boat up and down the west coast multiple times this year, the Boat Buckle is working flawlessly. I am very pleased with the product quality and ease of operation.

by:

It was very easy to install on my Four Winns trailer. It is an excellent product and works very well. If I had it to do again, I would buy the same one.

I would highly recommend the BoatBuckle Cargo Tie Down! It holds the boat very securely and is easy to use.

by:

The best investment I have made in my boat trailer. So much easier than the old tie down straps.

Really like these

  • Replacement Bunk Carpet, Winch, and Transom Tie Down for Boat Trailer
For a winch you will need to choose the right one based on the weight of your boat and the trailer setup. A common ratio for determining your winch load capacity is 2:1. For example, a 2,200-lb boat generally requires a 1,100-lb winch. If the same boat were winched a short distance with a low incline and with rollers in good condition, it can be safely winched with a 900-lb winch. The boat requires a winch with a 2,200-lb capacity if you are winching a longer distance with more resistance;...

For your 2004 Tracker Pro Team 175 Special Edition the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Bow Tie-Down Strap # IMF14220 would work well. • Installing BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Bow Tie-Down Strap on Trailer
The BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Bow Tie-Down Strap # IMF14220 that you referenced is primarily designed to install by drilling right into the trailer frame or crossmember like what you saw in the video. You would just use the included bolt and nut to secure it into place. This is definitely what I recommend doing as it offers a much simpler setup without the potential for various other pieces/brackets to become damaged or worn over time. The BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Bow Tie-Down Strap # IMF18741 has a working load limit (WLL) of 400 lbs and all straps and cables should be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL); shat this means is you need to have straps that have a WLL at or equal to your jet ski's 890 lbs. • Is BoatBuckle Transom Tie Down Suitable for a Bass Tracker Pro Team 175 TX at 1,300 Pounds
Transom tie downs # IMF14256 have a break strength of 1,500 pounds and working load limit of 500 pounds. What this means is that it can have up to 500 pounds on it constantly and be fine. It is not really supporting the whole boat weight and you are likely using other tie downs, a winch cable, and so on so the transom tie downs will be adequate. If you are not using additional tie downs I do recommend it; such as # IMF14220.

What's really interesting about boat straps like the # IMF14220 is that while they do secure the boat, which in your case is pretty heavy, the amount of weight capacity needed is really the weight of the trailer since basically you need the strap to keep the boat connected to the trailer in an emergency.
