Recessed-Mount Light
Recessed-mount trailer lights install with a grommet, which is often sold separately. These lights extend past the trailer surface and require a hole for installation. If replacing a light, you can utilize the pre-existing hole. If installing a new light, you will need to cut a hole or use a mounting bracket (sold separately) to complete the installation.

The lights were what was needed to fit my Jeep but I didn’t pay attention to the fact these are sealed units, meaning you can’t change the bulb. You must repurchase a new housing if the bulb goes bad.

Ordered and paid for overnight delivery since I was traveling early in the morning the day following my order. Didn't arrive the following morning even though it shipped 9 driving hours away from my home. Notified CS that the box arrived a day late and was shipped according to the label "UPS GROUND". Got a refund from overnight to 2-Day when I really should have paid ground shipping and would have received the package the same time. Probably not ordering again. Only positive is I didn't have to talk with the man on my trip. It is-what-it-is, at least we all get to pay more and get less for everything these days.

The tail light assembly was an exact fit for a really old S & H cargo trailer. I was actually surprised. The original tail light assembly was made by Peterson. I compared measurements, wiring, etc. and it was a match. The light was easy to install and still works perfect. E-trailer is my go to source for all my trailer needs.

I ordered two trailer taillights on 7/27/2017. On 7/29 got notice that they "shipped".
Package with only one taillight received on 8/5/2017. That is 10 days. Too long for a company with "e" in its name.
Contacted them to "expedite" the second taillight missing from my order on 8/6/2017. Received that on 8/14/2017. 8 days for an expedited delivery on a messed up order.
If you buy from them be patient and hope you get the correct shipment the first time.

- Replacing an Incandescent Peterson Light With a Peterson LED LightThe Peterson LumenX LED Trailer Light # M826R-7 should replace your Peterson # 435800 without issue. That being said, though they are the same diameter, the grommet may not be able to be reused. I suggest also getting # 426-18 just to make sure you are covered. Both of these lights do use the standard 3 prong wiring design, so the wiring can be reused from your original setup.
