Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Perfect fit on our 06 Weekend Warrior. Full set of instructions on how to switch hub was included. Maybe hour or so to install. Test drive went well. Chose overnight delivery which arrived in the morning. Very pleased.

by:

Everything fit properly and installation went smoothly. All needed parts were included, which was nice. The self-adjust worked well and break-in was quick.
I've only put about 1500 miles on the trailer since install, so I can't speak to longevity.
I'd buy them again though.

by:

Delivery was very fast, order shipped the same day. Came complete with everything needed to replace. Very satisfied.

Been running this drum and bearing assembly for a year and approximately 3500mi now. So far, so good. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a new “D” washer which was damaged when the wheel came off. So I had to locate one which wasn’t easy. E-Trailer needs to include this washer for a true complete assembly.

  • Recommended Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension for Forest River R-Pod RP-177
The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of a Forest River R-Pod RP-177 is 3,728 lbs therefore I recommend the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension part # TASR35HDS06 which has a 3,500 lb rating. I do understand this is less than the GVWR but that's the case for nearly every trailer as you still must factor in tongue weight. This system will also provide a 2" lift and the ability to add larger off-road tires. I have attached for you below new brakes and hubs/drums. Dexter Electric...

  • Replacement Brakes and Hubs/Drums for 2013 Jayco Jay Flight 28BHBE with 4,400 Lb Axles
I spoke with Dexter about the Jayco Jay Flight 28BHBE and they informed me that although your axle is rated for 4,400 lbs, it uses 5,200 lb axle parts. Therefore, the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-458-459 and Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # K08-201-98 are just what you need. If you just want bearings and seals we have these as well; part # LM67048, part # 25580, and part # RG06-070.

  • Trailer Hubs and Brakes For Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR35HDS02
The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR35HDS02 while only having a 3,500lb capacity uses a larger spindle size which is found on 5,200-7,000lb axles. This will require 2 of the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assemblies # K08-201-98. You will be able to use these hubs with your 18" wheel and the 265R18 tire. I recommend using the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-458-459 to complete the axle setup. If you do not want the larger heavy duty spindle we have the Timbren...

  • Can Trailer with Spindle Dimensions of 1.78 and 1.25 inch Change Wheel Bolt Pattern 6 on 5.5 inch
Based on your spindle dimensions we definitely do have a way to replace your hubs with ones that have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern but you need to measure diameter of seal surface as well to be sure. The part # 8-201-9UC3-EZ that you referenced would be correct for if you have a grease surface diameter of 2.125 inch or if you measure and find 2.25 inch you'd instead need the # K08-201-98 or go with the # 8-201-9UC3-EZ but replace grease seal with # RG06-070.

  • Will Hubs and Drums From 3,500 Pound Axle Fit 5,200 Pound Axle
Although you could replace your existing axle with the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam # 8327816, you would not be able to use your existing hubs and drums with this axle. The wheels could still be used as long as the new hubs match the bolt pattern. Since the spring seat measurement is 71-1/2" you would also need to cut off the spring seats and put on # TRSS300 to match your 68-1/2" measurement. • Everything Needed for Upgrading a Jayco Travel Trailer's Axles from 3500 Pounds to 5200 Pounds
Upgrading your axles to 5200 pounds is possible, but there's a lot more involved than just that and the wheels: You will need to upgrade your suspension (leaf springs) and your brakes. For that reason, I recommend going with one of our Timbren Axle-less systems. They act as the axle and the suspension, and they work independently which reduces the odds of uneven terrain affecting the entire axle.
