Availability of Hubs With 5 On 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern for 5,200 Pound Axle

Question:

I have a bent 3500lb axle on a camper, I am looking to replace the axle with a 5200lb axle. Not looking for a capacity increase, just a more reliable axle. I would like to keep my 5 lug wheels and tires - is it possible to put 5lug hubs and breaks on a 5200lb axle?

A 5,200 lbs axle like the # 8327816 will not allow you to keep your current bolt pattern. You will have to compromise somewhere, whether it is getting another 3,500 lbs axle or switching bolt patterns.

The typical bolt pattern for hubs on your existing 3,500 lbs axle is 5 on 4-1/2. The 5,200 lbs axles we have only allow for hubs with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern like the # K08-201-98 Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 12" - 6 on 5-1/2.

I would be happy to make a recommendation if you gave the the measurement of your axle from hub face to hub face/spring seat to spring seat and decide whether or not you want to switch axles.

I have attached several review videos for your reference.
