Did my first SUV a couple weeks ago, so figured I’d do a second one. This one went on easily. Directions were good. I was able to modify the heat shields without removing them completely from the car (just the bolts that needed to be removed anyways). I also was able to accomplish this install without a second person, though a second person would have made it significantly easier. The lead wires were a little intimidating at first, but once I got the first one figured out, the rest were easy (just need to have a little patience). I also left the wires on the bolts until I was ready to put on the nuts (threaded them through the holes on the hitch). I was also able to reattach the support for the plastic rear valence, which was not shown on the video. All in all, a 10.

Happy with product. Light duty use only - bike rack. I leave the bike rack on most of the time. Some slight surface rust where paint is chipping - no big deal though. Might require a wire brush and spray paint in a decade - car will be long gone by then!

2013 Ford Edge

Pretty easy install on 2013 edge sport. Looks great and worked perfect for cross country move towing a pretty big trailer, especially for the size of the edge. Ran the wiring through the inside in the door sills for a much cleaner look, as well as the wiring adapter I mounted on the hitch. There is no was I was going to do the "hang the cable out the back door" as was shown in one of the install videos. Instead it looks clean/factory and functions perfectly.

by:

Was able to install hitch without a second set of hands by using a motorcycle jack to lift the hitch into place. Once it was in place , i threaded the bolt guide , tighten the nuts and bolts and done. Seems sturdy but haven't tested it yet.

by:

Great hitch?? Went it extremely easy and loved the free shipping. Etrailer is a great company to order from??

by:

Awesome the fit it 100% correct for a Ford Edge sport and installation was easy

by:

So far so good we use it four to five times a year when we go away very easy to use.

by:

This hitch is well made and should last for a very long time. Easy install with concise instructions made for a one man job. Fitment was great and the hitch tucks up nice and tight under the rear valance. Looks like a factory install. I put it on a 2014 Ford Edge Sport. Looks great.

by:
Ford Edge

Fit edge sport perfect, no trimming of fascia needed

by:
2013 Ford Edge

The hitch shipped fast. Packaging was poor, there were multiple holes in the box due to no support of the hitch inside the box.
Also to note, the newer version of this hitch DOES NOT include the extra J-Bolt hole. Product description is lacking that information.

The manufacturer Draw Tite has discontinued including the J pin hole in all their hitch lines.

I actually haven't installed the wiring yet. Hitch is solid tho

by:
Ford Edge

The company is great to deal with and helped on my order to obtain the right Edge Sport hitch. The hitch installation was just as the instructions listed but the wiring was a little different. On the passenger side the connectors were to large to snake in behind the light and I just had to cut the two wires and solder them back together when I put the connectors in from the outside. Other than that is just took time to run the wire to the front. I would recommend the etrailer company.

by:

Had to spray paint a few scratches to prevent rust after installation but seem to be holding great so far. Rocking Kuat Base 2.0 with extension for 1 bike on it. Very solid.

by:
Ford Edge

Great product. We bought it so we could get a hitch mount bike rack for our Ford Edge. It hasn’t given us any problems! Not too difficult to install if you follow the instructions closely.

by:

Perfect Fit! My hitch arrived on time as described. I was sent an email when shipped and the tracking allowed me to see where my hitch was as it traveled across the country on its way to me. Great Service and communication. Thanks

First off, the customer service was amazing. They initially had some trouble filling my order but kept me in the loop the best they could and even offered me a similar product at one point to keep me satisfied. I will recommend them to everyone. Now onto the product. The installation videos were very helpful and made it a breeze to install. Great job guys!

Such a great investment for my vehicle with an easy installation!

by:
2012 Ford Edge

Product arrived on time and in great condition. This hitch fit my car perfectly and the instructions provided were great (also used the YouTube install videos). Overall, great experience!

by:
Ford Edge

Fits a Ford Edge Sport (2011 model) with no issues or cutting of the rear facia! Most others require cutting FYI. Installation video was great and I was able to do it in about 1.5 hours including a trip to the store.

by:

Not the easiest thing to install, but it can be installed by a do-it-yourselfer. On my 2013 Ford Edge, I was able to install it without drilling. Also, very reasonably priced.

by:
2012 Ford Edge

Product installed just as the video showed, which we referred to throughout installation. It works Great, sorry no pictures at this time.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2011 Ford Edge Sport
For your 2011 Ford Edge Sport, I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75728. This trailer hitch has a 2 inch receiver. No drilling or welding is required to install it on your Edge. I have attached an installation video and the installation instructions for the trailer hitch for you.

  • Towing Capacity for the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75728
The towing capacities for the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75728 are: Maximum gross trailer weight: 3,500 lbs Maximum GTW when used with weight distribution: 4,000 lbs Maximum tongue weight: 525 lbs Maximum TW when used with weight distribution: 525 lbs As you can see this hitch would not have the capacity for a trailer that weighs of 4,600 lbs.

  • Can a Trailer Hitch be Installed on a 2013 Ford Edge that Already has a Factory Trailer Hitch
If the factory hitch is welded on then you will not be able to install an aftermarket hitch on your 2013 Ford Edge. Removing it could weaken the vehicle frame and/or bumper structure and if it is welded on it is likely serving a dual purpose: hitch and bumper. If it is bolted on it would just have to be unbolted and removed to install a Class III hitch like # 75728 that you have referenced. For tongue weight capacity, even if a hitch is rated for 525 pounds tongue weight, that does...

  • Hitch with Best Ground Clearance for 2013 Ford Edge Sport
The best hitch for ground clearance on your 2013 Ford Edge Sport is the Draw Tite part # 75728 that you referenced because it has a crosstube that sits above the hitch opening which means that only the hitch tube will hang down. While that may not seem like it's much better in terms of ground clearance it is better than a hitch with a crosstube that hangs at the same height. Since only the center hangs down you wouldn't have as much interference as you make a turn into a driveway with...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2013 Ford Edge For Bike Rack
Best hitch for carrying a 3 bike rack for a 2013 Ford Edge would be the Draw Tite part # 75728 which is a 2 inch hitch that has plenty of capacity needed for carrying the weight of your bikes. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. We don't have recommended installers or this hitch but the good news is that trailer hitch installs are pretty basic for mechanics so any mechanic in your area with a decent reputation would have no problem doing this.

  • Is Rear Fascia Support Re-Attached When Installing DrawTite Hitch # 75709 on 2013 Ford Edge
The rear bumper fascia center support is not re-attached when installing the DrawTite Hitch # 75728 on a 2013 Ford Edge. The fastener that normally secures the fascia center support to the underside of the vehicle is re-attached to the vehicle but the support arm itself is to be folded up out of the way between the bumper cover and the actual bumper structure. There should be no issue with excessive movement of the rear fascia since it is still secured at all other points. The receiver...

  • 2 inch Draw Tite Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Ford Edge
For your 2014 Ford Edge we have two Draw Tite hitches that have a 2 inch opening like the part # 75992 that you referenced. The # 75992 is the correct hitch if your Edge is not a Sport model. If instead you do have a Sport model you'd want the # 75728. These are Class III hitches which have 2 inch openings which I believe is what you are looking for since this is the preferred size for most people. • Do All Trailer Hitches For 2014 Ford Edge SEL Require Drilling
I can understand not wanting to drill holes to mount a hitch, though the Draw-Tite # 75728 is only a fit the Sport model and will be unable to fit your 2014 Ford Edge SEL. I did double check with the manufacturer for you just to be certain. So to add a hitch to your '14 Edge SEL you will need to drill 17/32" holes in your frame rails for installation. Drilling to install a hitch is something that is pretty frequent and a lot of people do, even in areas there is bad weather, and you can...

  • Is Any Fascia or Bumper Trimming Required to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Ford Edge Sport
When installing Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75728 on a 2011 Ford Edge, there is no trimming of the rear fascia, bumper, or diffuser. You will only need to trim some heat shields under the vehicle in order for the hitch to fit properly. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
