Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Delivery was speedy and hassle free. The hitch fit my 2009 Honda CR-V perfectly. The videos provided were very helpful for smoothing over the installation process. I definitely had to scrub the rust and gunk out of the frame holes since my car has over 100k miles on it. The only complaint I have is that one of the 4 mounting bolts sent with the hitch was a 16 mm head instead of 17 mm. The threads were the same but I was livid struggling to tighten a 16 mm bolt with a 17 mm socket before I noticed that it wasn’t the same. I don’t blame etrailer.com for that mixup. It was likely a manufacturing mistake. The hitch looks good either way and I’m excited for my new Hollywood E-bike rack that I just put on it.

Fantastic! I’ve been using the hitch to pull a trailer and it has performed like a hitch should. I’m very happy with my purchase!

A great experience on.sll counts. The trailer.com website was extremely easy to locate multiple trailer hitches for my 2010 Honda CRV and verify the correct fit. It was very easy to comparison shop for price and specifications. I especially like that the etrailer.com website provides links to product review videos, and installation videos.

Communication by etrailer.com throughout the order and shipping period was excellent. I knew when my order was received, and expected to arrive, when it was shipped, and when it was delivered. And it was delivered by the day predicted. They also had great satisfaction follow up. What can you say? These folks are great.

The Draw Tight trailer hitch is superior quality. The construction is bomb proof and pretty, and the fit is perfect. The design is also very superior, with a u-bolt that allows for easier installation, cut outs for accessing the muffler hanger bracket, Grade 8 bolts and washers, and more. The installation instructions were complete, very simple and clear.

I would suggest the instructions include a required tool: a 10mm fine x 1.25 metric tap. I included a photo of the one I needed to clear out the threads on the frame nuts.

The etrailer.com packaging was adequate and not overkill. The box and packaging protected the product during shipping and the hardware was cleverly shrink wrapped in the receiver box to prevent loss.

Great experience and good price.

Hitch was great. Shipping took its toll on the box and also the powder coat on certain parts of the hitch, but it will all be underneath the car and unseen. Sorry I couldn't do a 5 star.

Even though this hitch will not be seen, it is still important to make sure those paint chips and/or scratches are covered up. I deeply apologise for how this arrived. I would recommend covering those scratches with a rust-o-leum type of paint, there is a link below with some more information for your reference. I also have sent your information over to our customer service department for them to look into some sort of compensation.

This thing is beefy enough to make you think our CR-V could almost pull a load, but no. I'm just needing a hitch for a capable bike rack, and this has the highest rated tongue wt. Which is far beyond what I need. It's a very beefy hitch, nicely powder coated, will install easily.

2008 Honda CR-V

I could not be more pleased with this trailer hitch! All the necessary hardware was included, the directions were concise but sufficient, and the installation went without a hitch, because that hitch is now securely attached to my Honda CR-V. The trickiest part was figuring out for the first time how to remove the exhaust pipe from its hangers, but some WD-40 and a flathead screwdriver for leverage worked just fine. If you have someone else around to help hold it in place while threading the bolts, it'll be easier. I managed to prop the hitch up and rest it on my legs while fastening it, and I'm none worse for the wear. I'm stoked to once again be able to use my bike rack and hit the trails!

Its worked without a single issue over the past year. The ultimate test was when I had to have my CR-V towed out of a garage a few straps connected from the hitch to a Jeep did the trick, no problems. Theres a little bit of rust forming on some parts of it, thanks to the winter weather, but its purely cosmetic.

2009 Honda CR-V

Well made, good looking hitch that was very easy to install. Total time to install was about an hour. Despite several attempts to do it on my own I did need an extra set of hands to hold the hitch while I got the first bolt in place. Video instructions were perfect. Exactly what I was looking for to attach a hitch mounted bike rack on my Honda CR-V. Saved me several hundred dollars from having a dealership or [rental trailer company] install it. Definitely recommend!

Still working perfectly. I’ve kept a bike rack attached to it the entire year and no problems. Works exactly as I expected it to. Definitely recommend.

Great website! It matched the right trailer hitch to my car make, model and year. The fitting was 30 minutes, all parts matched and bolts were there. Very, very warmly recommended supplier, website and (oh, did I tell you?) a fantastic hitch!

It works great and looks nice! Fits perfectly on a 2011 Honda CRV. Installation was mildly difficult due to low clearance but nothing horrible. The installation video was very helpful. The product packaging was a bit damaged on delivery and the hitch itself had some scuffing on it but I painted the scuffed parts with some protective paint. I am very happy with the hitch and would recommend it. etrailer sells accessories for the hitch as well.

2010 Honda CR-V

This product exceeded my expectations. It was shipped promptly and was not hard to install. The only problems I had were that the captive nuts in the frame had rusted enough that I had to re tap them to get the bolts to start. This is not unusual for a car of this age and is not an issue with the product itself. It was fairly easy to install by myself and would be very easy for two people. I am 76 years old and if I can then think how easy it would be for a younger person.I'm very satisfied.

2011 Honda CR-V

Hitch took over a week to get. It arrived on my door stoop with one end sticking out of the box. However, it was not bent or damaged. I installed it in about an hour. I installed it on a 2011 Honda CR-V LX.
I had to lower the muffler by removing the hanger bars from the rubber grommets to get access to the weld nuts on the right side of the vehicle. There wasn't any rust on the frame or weld nuts, but I did clean out the weldnut threads by running a tap through them. Then threaded in the four M10 bolts by hand, and then attached the 3/8" U-bolt. I hand tightened all the bolts to make sure the hitch was aligned. Then I torqued all the bolts and U-bolt nuts to specifications. I re-attached the muffler hangers into the rubber grommets and it was done.

We recently purchased a trailer hitch for our 2011 Honda CRV. The hitch we purchased from etrailer.com is well built / very substantial unit and was a breeze to install. The only thing is when it arrived, one of the hitch ends broke through the end of the box and was not protected. Thankfully the hitch end wasn't damaged. I highly recommend this product and purchasing through etrailer.com

DrawTite hitch for my Honda C-RV was the best combination for ground clearance, tow GVWR, vertical weight specs and a nice little tab to mount the electrical plug. It was very easy to install, etrailer had the best price with no shipping cost, and I ordered it on 7/11 and received it on 7/17.

Everything has been functioning well with many trips with a 5x8 trailer. The only issue has been the j-pin I ordered from the same company. The pin helped greatly to reduce the noise of a rattling hitch in receiver tube but The combination of the j-pin nut and pin hole in the hitch being too close to a hitch weld joint prevented tightening the j-pin nut on a flat surface. This is a minor design flaw which I solved with a 14 thick washer with a notch ground out to give the nut a flat surface to mate against and avoid the irregular weld surface.

A perfect fir for my 2009 CR-V. Wasn't hard to install either, once I figured out the trick to loosening the exhaust hanger — soapy water. It's been used only to carry a bike rack, but seems very solid.

As always e-trailer has sent us a quality item. We just purchased a trailer hitch receiver specific for our car. Installment was easy and price was fair. We always look to e-trailer for quality items. Customer service keeps us updated from ordering throughout shipment and is there promptly to answer any questions that may pop up.

I required a hitch for my car back in February 2013 from etrailer and was amazed by all the wonderful help I received. My concern was ordering the wrong hitch but you took me by the hand and guided me right through it. Shipping was very quick and it was delivered even placed in my garage.

I have told all my friends about my wonderful experience and if I need further items of this nature I will return to etrailer. I'm a 100% satisfied customer. Thank you so much.

2007 Honda CR-V

This entire experience was great. First it was easy to find the right hitch (75547) for my 2007 Honda CRV on the website, then the installation video gave me a realistic idea of what it was going to take for me to install it. When I ordered the hitch came quickly. The installation process went exactly like the video. Using the spray lubricant on the rubber muffler mounts was a great tip. Be sure to use a torque wrench (I had to borrow a friend's). I was amazed how much more I had to tighten the bolts before the torque wrench "clicked." Now my wife and I can load our bikes on our new "trailer hitch" mounted bike rack without muscling them up on the roof the way we've been doing for 20 years! The only negative was that one arm of the hitch punched through the shipping box it arrived in. I was worried some of the hardware might have fallen out. Turns out all the hardware is taped inside the 2" hitch opening before shipment, so everything was there. Thanks.

I received the package on Monday but only had the time to open it. I installed it this morning and it took me an hour and a half.

I started with a prayer, as always, and it was very straightforward from there. I also viewed the youtube instructions a few times. That was very helpful.

I backed my vehicle onto a pair of steel car ramps to get more room to maneuver. Per instructions I took the exhaust off its hangers and with the help of a 2-ton trolley jack I lifted the hitch into the proper height and loosely fastened the 4 bolts. I installed the U bolt last and tightened the 4 bolts one at a time.

I have nothing but sincere appreciation for the manufacture of the product. The holes are precise and there was no fighting it to make everything fit. If only everything was made this way!

I had to do it today. Tomorrow I turn 65 and I intend to stay greaseless and not crawling under a car!

Thank you so much. The delivery was quick and the product is excellent. I am enclosing some pictures. I should have taken some while I was working on it.

by:

It fit my 2010 Honda CRV perfectly. The etrailer installation videos were very helpful. I couldn't get the hitch receiver bolts to start in the frame weld nuts even after repeated spraying with penetrating oil and scrubbing with a nylon brush. I was about to give up. I checked e-trailer again and I found a video for cleaning corroded weld nuts with a battery terminal wire brush. I was skeptical it would work but after careful twisting in the weld nuts I was able to clean the weld nuts without damaging the threads. Great tip!

I use this for my Kuat NV 2” bike rack. Been using it for a year straight, thru snow and rain and sand and salt. Made sure to check bolt torque after about 300 miles. No complaints, easy install, etrailer had it for much cheaper than anywhere else, just buy it!

2010 Honda CR-V

Awesome. I chose this hitch after watching several installation videos of various products. This was easy to install, with no special tools required. Saved a lot of $'s with this product. Our use will be for a bike rack, which works great. Hitch is well hidden bike rack is not on the vehicle. Will definitely purchase another hitch from etrailer when we have a new car.

This hitch was a perfect addition for our 2009 Honda CR-V and installed easily without issue. We use it routinely with the e- trailer 4-bike carrier that also works well. After a year's worth of use both pieces are still looking good and serve us well. Very satisfied on all counts.

2007 Honda CR-V

I ordered this product after watching the experts pick video. The video pointed out that this hitch has a higher tongue weight . Since I will be using the hitch for a three place bike rack or to haul a small boat the higher tongue weight was desirable. The hitch was easy to install per the instructions and looks great. I would recommend this product to any CR-V owner who needs a class 3 hitch.

Love this hitch! Went in in about an hour with the help of my friend, his tools & knowledge.

Already have my bike rack on it and plan to use the chain attachments (one of the reasons I bought this hitch) to anchor my paddleboard in the back!

  • Can 2010 Honda CR-V Rear Hatch be Opened with a Trunk Mount Bike Rack Installed
All trunk mount bike racks have to be removed from the vehicle before you can open the rear hatch. The hatch hinges/struts are not designed to handle the extra weight. The hatch could fall unexpectedly. And the bike rack strap hooks could deform the vehicle metal because the space they fit in changes when you try to open the hatch. In order to be able to carry bikes and have access to the rear hatch on your 2010 Honda CR-V at the same time you can use a special type of hitch mounted bike...

I do recommend torqueing the bolts for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75547 on a 2011 Honda CR-V to spec. In regards to the condition of the weld nuts, the only thing you can do is tap them to clear out the rust so you can then thread the bolt in. If the bolts do not torque or the weld nuts break then you will have no other choice but to drill them out and replace them with carriage bolts and spacer blocks. There is also the option to tap the weld nuts to the next...

  • Draw-Tite Cover for 2 inch Reciever on 2008 Honda CRV
The Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 75547, is the correct hitch for your 2008 Honda CRV. This hitch does not come with the Draw-Tite Hitch cover. You would need to stow the cover in the vehicle when the hitch is in use. This cover is installed by just pushing it into the receiver and does not require hardware or tools for installation.

Since the RockyMounts MonoRail...

This hitch will allow you to have greater flexibility for picking future hitch accessories like cargo carriers due to the larger amount of products made to work on 2 inch hitches. I attached installation instructions and an installation video for this product...
