Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendations for 2011 Honda CR-V

I purchased a hitch for my 2011 cr-v and I am currently looking for a hitch mounted bike rack for this hitch. My question is which racks will hold a girls bike that does not have a crossbar? Or wil I need to purchase an adapter so that I can mount girls bikes to these bike racks?

There are many hitch mounted bike racks that are compatible with the # 75547 Class III hitch installed on your 2011 Honda CR-V.

If you want to avoid using an adapter bar, a platform style rack would work well. The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670 is a very popular rack that is highly rated by our customers. The ratcheting hooks secure the bike frame, and work very well with womens bikes unless they are the step-through variety that only use a single down tube. A platform rack that hooks to the top of the front tire like the Kuat Sherpa, part # SH22G, would also be a good choice if the girls bike has a 20 inch wheel. I have linked you to a product demonstration video showing the Sherpa in use on a 2011 CR-V like yours. The rack includes an adapter to accommodate 20 and 24 inch wheels.

A hanging-type rack like the Swagman Trailhead, (2-bike model, # S63360, 3-bike # S63365 or 4-bike # S63380) would also be a good choice, but as you mentioned, an adapter bar like # 64005 is most likely needed in order to carry the bike so that it is level. If the distance between the seat post and the handlebar gooseneck is 16 inches or greater, the adapter bar will fit great.
