Curt is my go to for all things towing, they never disappoint and with the added service of the sales team at etrailer it makes it a great experience. Thanks, I'll send pics after the install, been raining a week here.

Great trailer hitch, and was easy to in stall

by:

This is a outstanding hitch. All of the hardware came with it. The new hitch mounted up to my pickup perfectly. My old hitch was rusting badly and needed replaced on my 2011 Chevy Silverado.
I would definitely order again for another vehicle.

by:

Great hitch. Went in easy. Only reason for only four stars was the crappy cardboard box it ships in. It just can’t handle ups handling

by:

Project went very well. Was able to remove old hitch without a problem. Lucky me. Job took less than 30 minutes start to finish.

by:

Etrailer was fast and responsive, welds on Curt hitch look very nice. Shipper had fun tossing the box all around the place on the way, lots of holes in the cardboard.

by:
2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Excellent quality. The only problem I had was the two rear holes (one on each side) closest to the differential didn't quite line up. I had to use a pry bar to get them close enough to drop the bolt in. I installed the hitch myself, as the video says, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a five gallon paint bucket, a load of scrap wood and had your Wheaties for breakfast to have the strength to hold up one side while you align the other. It's long and very awkward. Very pleased with the outcome. It looks very neat and like it belongs. Thank you.

by:

Pretty good upgrade for my truck. Loved the new look of it. Not to bad to install and directions were easy to read. There is one design issue. You will have to purchase any shackle of your choice and you will need a locking hitch receiver pin. My chains from my travel trailer do not work with a normal codder pin style hitch pin. Other than that so far so good. My trailer hasn't fallen off my truck yet. Solid upgrade other than their design.

by:

All went well. Purchase was very easy, and the installation was very easy. The hitch,
Very strong, and built tough.

Great hitch, definite upgrade from OEM hitch that rusted out. GM owners check your OE hitch. Super easy install with supplied hardware. Took about a hour to mount. Great price too!

Still solid and tight after a year of towing everything from boats to trailers to campers. No signs of rust.

by:

The top of the box was found blown open when delivered but all the hardware was there. It was well secured to the hitch. The hitch seemed significantly thicker than the old hitch and had a nice shiny finish. I used wood blocking and a rope to raise the hitch high enough for me to crawl underneath and connect one fastener to the one remaining welded nut still attached to the frame. After that, the install was a breeze. The other welded nut was ripped from the frame in removing the bolt from the old hitch. A new nut had to be purchased. The rust I found in removing the old hitch was extreme. Rust had made a couple of holes completely through the old OEM hitch even though I removed and painted it a few years beforehand. I ended up painting and coating with fluid film the entire area around the hitch and behind the spare tire before installing the new hitch. I didn't remove the spare tire for the install as suggested in the instructions as I was pretty familar with the area as I spent a lot of time under there removing the old hitch and doing prep work and, therefore, was confident I could do it without removing it. The time spent installing the new hitch itself was a drop in the bucket compared to my other time under there. I probably spent less than 2 hours installing it and that included stopping to get a new nut at a hardware store.

2008 Chevrolet Silverado

The box was shot. Good thing the bolts were taped to the hitch. The hitch looks great.

I went through etrailer when I needed a trailer hitch for my old Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the service was great from them. So naturally, I ordered my new trailer hitch for my new Chevy Silverado through etrailer as well. Their instructions and installation videos make installing your new trailer hitch on your own quick and easy. I would recommend etrailer to anyone looking for a new trailer hitch!

Best. Receiver. Ever! The Curt Class 4 receiver arrived at my door step a few days after ordering. I shopped around quite a bit and etrailers beat all of the other competitors in price by a fair amount. It’s built for heavy duty use, compared to the OEM receiver. They should put these on all trucks that come off the assembly line. The original receiver had two decent size cracks. It took a little longer for installation on my 2009 Chevy 1500. I recommend blasting the nuts and bolts with some sort of penetrating oil a day before installation. Took me 2 hours to unbolt the factory hitch. If you’re installing by yourself, I recommend using a couple cam straps to help hold the receiver near the frame in order to get a bolt in. Other than that installation went fast and smooth! I have been recommending etrailers and Curt receivers to all my friends!

by:

Easy install. Rings to hook chains are a little small, added a few D rings to help secure chain hooks

by:
2007 Chevrolet Silverado

This hitch is nearly 3x thicker than what came OEM on my '07 Silverado 1500.

Years of towing on the unforgiving roads of the Northeastern USA had beaten that OEM hitch into submission, peening the receiver pin hole oval. Rust was also eating away at it at the same time. There is much less clearance in the receiver box than there was on the OEM - this is a GOOD thing. That sloppy OEM beat itself to death from day 1.

The only gripe I have is the packaging - I would have preferred the corrosion resistance of an unblemished factory paint job, but this one got beat a little. Other than that, very pleased with it.

by:
2013 Chevrolet Silverado

This receiver hitch is heavy duty and top quality. Definite improvement over the factory hitch. Installation was simple. We didn’t even need to lower the spare tire either. Battery powered 1/2” drive impact wrench with deep sockets and a box end wrench to remove old the bolts. Just impact sockets on the bolts supplied with the hitch. No box wrench needed because the carriage bolts and square washers hold themselves as you run up the nut.

Great fit and function for my 2008 Silverado. I have hauled many loads in my dump trailer and moved tractor with large trailer.

I ordered this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class IV 2" Item #14301 for a Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton with custom dual exhaust that exits under the rear bumper. The spread on these custom exhaust pipes is 42.5 inches and this hitch fit between the pipes with room to spare. The hitch shipped on a Sunday and arrived 3 days later on Wednesday in great condition. Shipping was via UPS ground from Missouri to Texas. All hardware was included and securely taped to the hitch. The etrailer.com web site also provided detailed tracking updates of the shipment.

This hitch is way heavier at 52 pounds and more heavy duty than the light weight factory hitch. I did have to remove the factory hitch before installing this Curt hitch. Installation is best done with 2 people as this hitch is heavy and bulky, but can be done by 1 person if safety measures are taken and you have adequate tools. No drilling was required. Spare tire removal is not required but removal would make hitch installation easier.

I would recommend etrailer.com for your towing needs due to fast shipping and competitive pricing. Thank you kindly etrailer.com.

by:

Awesome hitch ! Nice to know you have a solid hitch when you’re towing down the road.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Silverado

I am very pleased with the trailer tow hitch as it is heavier made that the OEM hitch...howvever...the mounting hardware stripped when I was applying the appropriate ft/lbs of torque.

by:

by:

Bolted right all holes were perfect location came with all bolts need . Installed in 30 minutes. 1 year of use so far and it’s been flawless 09 Silverado 10k curt hitch package

by:

The hitch was very nice and arrived on time. Much better than the original hitch.
