Expert Reply:
Yes, the Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver , item # 14301, will fit your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab. I have provided a link to instructions for you to review.
You will need to check the GCVWR (gross combined vehicle weight rating) of your truck to determine the towing capacity of your vehicle. This rating can be found in the owners manual and sometimes in the drivers door jamb. GCVWR is the maximum allowable weight for you vehicle the trailer and all of the contents in both. If you vehicle GCVWR is lower than the rating provided by the hitch, 10,000 pounds in this case, you will need to abide by the lowest recommended rating.
Some items you may want to consider to complete your Class IV towing setup are listed below.
Wiring, item # PK11916
Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount, # AMSC2
Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set, item # 902B
Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, item # 90885
I have also linked instructions for installation of a brake controller on your vehicle for you to review. Any time you will be towing a trailer that weighs over 1/2 of the vehicle weight electric trailer brakes and a brake controller are recommended.
