Today, you're going to be taking a look at the Buyer's product 1/2 inch locking hitch pin. The way we're going to mount any accessory into our inch and 1/4 hitch, is with a hitch pin and clip. Now the problem with these is, is that they're not going to provide us any kind of security. Somebody could walk by, easily remove the pin and clip and then take the accessory within a matter of seconds. But, our locking hitch pin is going to replace the cotter pin with a deadbolt style lock, that way, we can make sure our accessory is secure and that nobody's going to be taking it.A locking hitch pin is designed to work with inch and 1/4 by inch and 1/4 receiver to openings and this will be great for all different kind of accessories, whether it's a ball mount, a bike rack or even a cargo carrier. The pin itself, is going to have a chrome plated finish and the lock is going to have a black powder coat finish.
Both of those are going to help resist rust and corrosion and make sure we can use our lock for a long time.The lock does have a dust cover, to keep all the dirt and debris out of the lock cylinder and it is going to come with two keys. And, whenever we want to remove the lock, we can take our key, put it in the lock, give it a quarter turn and remove it. Now, you'll notice that the key's going to have a spring loaded action to it, so when we turn it, it'll unlock it, we'll have to hold it in that position and remove it. We can pull the key off and we don't have to have the key, in order to lock the pin. We'll just simply push it in place and we'll hear it click and it'll be locked in.If you're looking to add security to your inch and 1/4 hitch, to keep your accessories safe, a locking hitch pin's a great idea.

This locking hitch pin worked great, until the lock somehow went MIA while in use holding a bike rack.

I was most impressed that I ordered a hitch pin that was the wrong size and their customer service personnel contacted me and told me it wouldn’t fit and wanted to make sure it was what I actually wanted. I cancelled that portion and they didn’t charge me. Most companies wouldn’t have caught the mistake let alone alert me. I will order from them again.
Great lock, very durable and doesn't feel cheap/plasticy. The cover over the lock is a nice addition to keep grime out and 2 keys included, can easily copy if you need more
