I have a 2015 Ford F-250 with the factory 2.5" receiver hitch. This drop ball mount fits into the factory receiver well, contrary to the product warning. It is also extremely beefy, you will not be disappointed! Photo fitment proof!

by:

Very Strong ball mount. My wive (its her truck), towed 7000# of horse, tack and trailer last saturday. I know this ball mount is overkill but it is easier than using a 2" with the receiver adapter. Also this way if we have to tow something real heavy we already have the ball mount for it.

Looks like you tow horse trailer with Ram 2500. I just purchased one for towing a horse trailer and am trying to figure out if I need a 4 or 5 inch . Looks like 5 inches works for you.

The drop size depends not just on the truck but the height of the trailer as well. There is a real quick way to figure out exactly what size drop you need. You'll just need to take one measurement on the truck and one on the trailer. Check out the link one of our FAQ articles on slecting a ball mount.

Top notch super heavy duty solid Class V 18000# 2 1/2" hitch with 5" drop. Has some weight, but easy to heft with recessed sides. Married this with a 2 5/16" Brophy raw hitch ball. This is overkill for a 7,000# GVWR trailer being pulled frequently by a 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500HD 4X4 Crew dually with 2.5" stock receiver. Has also occasionally pulled several 6,000# wagons to the elevator. Have no major complaints, but there is a slight variant in size of about 1/16" mounted in the 2.5" receiver so there is very light feel when pulling empty. The 5" drop seems to work the best. This is the second hitch purchased for quick change out. Couldn't be more satisfied.

by:

Fits the 2013 Ford F350 with the heavy duty receiver factory option.

Great customer service and quick shipping. Ricky S. called when my product was backordered and took care of it immediately. Most places don't care that much. You have my business next time and I'll definitely recommend your business to others looking for towing products. Thanks for the great experience!

by:

This is a stout 18000 pound 2 1/2" hitch with 5" drop. Fit perfect iin my 2012 Silverdo 2500HD hitch. The recess on each side helps you carry it in your hand comfortably. Don't forget to get an extra long locking hitch pin for 2 1/2" ball bounts with key lock to keep it from being stolen. I married it up with a 12000 pound 1 1/4" thick, 2 5/16" ball with a 2 3/4" shank.

have 2008 ford f350 super,,, dually.? will it fit

Patrick B.

Ford uses a slightly different radius in the corners of their 2-1/2 inch receivers. That radius will not allow this ball mount to fit. If it is an aftermarket 2-1/2 inch hitch, you should be fine. But the OEM 2-1/2 from Ford will not work.

etrailer puy me on the road ,the help excellent,I rate etrailer A++++

by:

I buy items from etrailer a lot and I have yet had an issue with any of my purchases. This ball mount fits perfectly in my hitch receiver and allows me plenty of weight capacity left. No rattle, fits firm and the drop and rise makes towing any trailer easy.

by:

Etrailer has been great to work with. Usually the lowest price and good service. The hitch is made in china, but is backed by Reese so should be trustworthy. I will pull a 14K equipment trailer with my 1 ton ram. Glad my truck came with a class V hitch. I like the extra capacity of the 2.5" hitch!

by:

These hitches are solid. I have had 1 of these for about 8 years and it has taken some abuse with out failure. Liked it so much when my dad bought i new truck we got one for his too. Best hitch on the market if your not looking for adjustable height.

by:

Tough piece of hardware, fits well into both of my 2.5" receivers, no rattling. Don't drop it on your foot, must be 20#.

by:

My hitch came quickly , Staff at etrailer could not have been more helpful.

by:

great Trailer ball hitch. made extremely well. Strongest ball hitch I could find with a 5 inch drop.
Thank you for the quick shipping

by:

Ball mount is as good as advertised. Will definitely be doing business with etrailer again. I received item sooner than expected thanks to the up grade they gave me on shipping at no extra cost.

by:

Bought the forged class V ball mount and returned the just purchased class IV after buying a new truck and rear end was higher than last one so had to go to a 5" drop. Phone support was great and return was easy with label sent to me via email. Thanks for your help.

by:

Great, heavy duty hitch. Fit into receiver very well. Made this hitch the same height as on my other truck.

by:

I have purchased 3 of the titan ball mounts and they all perform as expected. Great product and a great price!

by:

This is the second Mount I purchase. First one was a different drop size and I needed something longer for the new trailer. I loved the first one so much that there was no reason to change. These are built very strong and I have used it several times hauling very heavy loads on very bad roads. Works as it should .

by:

I needed this to pull a heavy trailer thru several states. It performed flawlessly. I would recommend this for any heavy duty hauling in its class.

by:

Excellent draw bar, and the service at etrailer is outstanding...

by:

Just what I needed. Extremely well made. Fits perfect. Best place for hitch everything.

by:

Product is the top of the line Ball Mount. There is no better ball mount on the Market

by:

Great hitch for heavy loads. Good workmanship and nice corrosion resistant finish.

Use the Ball Mount often. It has been great. It fits the new F-250 reciever and will tow anything that I hook to it.

Super heavy duty, should outlast a few trucks.

  • Dimensions Of Reese Ball Mount RP45323
I had our warehouse measure the Reese Ball Mount - 3-1/2" Rise, 5" Drop - 10" Long - 18,000 lbs # RP45323 and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the ball mount is 4", and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole is 10" as shown in the included diagram. I included a video of the # RP45323 for you to take a look at.

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F250 with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Originally, because the radius at the inside corners of the Ford OEM hitches were more rounded than usual, getting aftermarket hitch accessories that would fit was a problem. Ballmounts could be altered to fit by sanding off the powder coat at the corners. In the meanwhile, Reese has altered the design of the ball mount slightly by rounding the shank edges so that it will be compatible with the Ford OEM 2-1/2 inch receivers. I have confirmed this with Reese. The # RP45323 ballmount should...

The Reese Ball Mount - 3-1/2" Rise, 5" Drop - 10" Long - 18,000 lbs # RP45323 does have a gloss black powder coat finish over an autophoretic coating or "A-coat". This ensures the heat resistant metal is able to be protected from corrosion and wear.

  • Weight Capacity of Curt Class V 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver, Part # C15810
You are correct that the product description for the Curt Class V 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver, Part # C15810, shows the same tongue weight and gross towing weight ratings with and without weight distribution. This is because unlike lower capacity hitches, say a Class III, this Class V hitch is already rated at or near the vehicle structural limits. Strictly speaking, adding a weight distribution setup would give this hitch receiver higher capacity, but it would serve no purpose. Unless...

  • Can I Use Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15409 Same Time as the OEM Hitch on 2010 Dodge Ram 3500
The hitch you have referenced, Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C15809, is a 2-1/2 inch receiver, and can be installed along with an OEM receiver, on your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500. • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2016 Ford F-350 with 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch
Since the tongue weight of the trailer will pull down a little on the truck you can go with a ball mount that has a 5 inch drop. I actually recommend going with an adjustable ball mount that has multiple balls, # WS6-25. This ball mount has a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch ball, a built-in tongue weight scale, and the height can be adjusted in 1 inch increments. It is also made of aluminum so it won't rust. • How to Determine Tongue Weight of an 18,000 Pound Trailer
Tongue weight is typically 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. However there are several trailers that do not follow this rule; such as toy haulers as one example, which can be as much as 20 percent or so of the gross trailer weight. If your trailer weighs 18,000 pounds when loaded and ready to tow then 10 to 15 percent would be 1,800 to 2,700 pounds. If your tongue weight is actually 6,000 pounds then that would mean it is about 33 percent of the gross trailer weight. This...

Weight distribution is recommended when the loaded weight of the trailer is more than half of the weight of the tow vehicle. Your trailer loaded will probably weigh about what your tow vehicle weighs, if not more.
