Can a Ball Mount for a 2-1/2 Inch Class V Trailer Hitch be Used in the Rise Position
Question:
I just received a 2 1/2 inch class 5 5 inch drop ball mount rated at 12,000lbs. I want to double check that it is ok to use it in the rise position? We purchsed it for the lift not the drop.

Depending on the ball mount, you can use it in the rise or drop position. Some ball mounts, like # 45291, can only be used in the drop position. The Reese Titan Ball Mount, # RP45323, that comes in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, # EBMK25518, can be used in the rise or drop position. It will provide 3-1/2 inches of rise or 5 inches of drop. I have included a link to our FAQ article on choosing the right ball mount for you.
