What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Flint Hill Goods Coupler Lock. There's gonna be 7/8 of an inch. It's gonna go right here in the hole on your coupler latch so that it cannot be unlatched when you're not around. Let's check it out. So the coupler lock is gonna go in the hole here on the coupler latch so that the latch can't be popped up, which means you can't disconnect it from the ball mount.
So that's good if you're traveling, you park your trailer somewhere, you don't have to worry about anybody popping up the latch and disconnecting it or just it accidentally happening on its own. The lock itself, really easy to use. It's got the barrel lock with the grip on this side to help you out. And then you got these cylinder keys, and you just push that into place, once it lines up, turn the key, it unlocks it, and you remove the lock. These are the two portions.
It's 7/8 of an inch, so it doesn't leave much gaps in there when you put it through the latch and attach it. And we turn that key and lock it in place. See, there's not a whole lot of room in there, so that's gonna keep people from getting tools and prying. Got a dust cap on this side. It just goes over the lock, protecting it so that dirt, dust, and debris doesn't get in there and jam off the lock.
We're gonna have 7/8 of an inch of space here in the lock, and then the pin diameter itself is gonna be a quarter inch. Overall, really good to have, to lock up that coupler latch. I like that you can just put it in there. Pull the key, really easy to do. You see, I'm not even on that side.
It wasn't difficult to get that in place, and now I don't have to worry about it coming disconnected or somebody messing with it when I'm not around. The fact that you combine that with the hitch pin lock, you don't have to worry about the ball mount either. You can be safe and sound, it's not going anywhere. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and I hope this helped.

Trailer coupler lock for lever style coupler requiring 7/8" span. The first one did not work well, but trailer quickly made it right by shipping me a replacement that works jusT fine.
The large diameter of the body on this lock makes it interfere with the body of the coupler, so you cannot use it on a standard 2 15/16 travel trailer coupler latch as I had intended. I think I may be able to do a bit of grinding on the body to create some flats that will allow it to work because it is close to being able to work on my coupler.
Product worked exactly as stated. The product was easy to code to my truck key. I am very happy with the Bolt trailer hitch lock, also was looking for a lock for my trailer coupler that was sturdy, easy and quick to unlock and the MaxxTow Trailer Coupler lock is Pretty much what I was looking for.
delivered in a timely matter and excellent product
Lives in my trailer, so far so good. No significant wear/rust. Trailers lives outside, under a roof.
Great service, thanks Josh. Fast delivery and excellent item.
I’m very happy with this coupler lock. I’m using it on a Maxey utility trailer with a Demco Easy latch adjustable coupler. It was a little long for my application, so I used a rubber grommet to protect the finish on the coupler. Great product!
The only thing keeping it from being marked excellent is it is advertised as 3 5/8" span, it is actually only 3 1/2". If your application dictates 3 5/8" need, you will have to grind or turn some material from the inside under the head of the stem. Otherwise, it is well built and works as it should.
Work well - process to lock them is kind of a pain though. Push on one end and hold cylinder from rotating to lock.
great product
Works great! Thanks to George for resolving my delivery issues! Great company to buy from.
Thanks Again!
Charles
Perfect for what I needed for the surge Brakes on my car EZ-Tow Dolly. I had previously ordered one that was 2-1/2" which should of fit but the hitch had some metal flares on it that made it necessary to get the longer one. Very good product - and I really like the round-cylinder key system. I recommend this product for anyone that has a surge brake system with the 1/4" shaft - pin locking system.
I use this to lock a bike carrier to a class I hitch (the 5/8" lockable pin won't fit through the bike carrier mount). Works awesome. The rubber cap stays secure.
I bought this product and was pleased that the service and shipping was fast, but one of the locks fell apart the 1st time I unlocked it. The small lock that locks the trailer to my truck hitch just fell apart. The lock that locks the stinger to my reciever hitch was difficult to put on. My factory mounted trailer light plug below my bumper was to close to the stinger. I had to bend the key over at a 90 degree to get it to work, but I got several keys so its ok there. all in all I wouldnt buy this again or recommend this to a friend
Great product. Been using this coupler latch lock about a year now. It has kept my Airstream travel trailer locked and secured to the hitch ball while towing to 20 different States. I would purchase this lock again.
These are heavy locks. They are spring loaded so it is just a turn of the key and they open. To close push in and turn key.
Very nice product. But, there is one exception -- the span is not 3-5/8" but actually 3-3/8". Probably just a type in the description. Other than that it will work just fine for my trailer coupler. Thanks!!
I have a 2018 Ranger Trail boat trailer, and wanted a good lock to secure the trailer to my truck when I am off fishing. I went with the 3-5/8" to ensure that it fit well......... propably could have gone with the 3-1/2" and been fine. Looks good, I like the fact that it is a different type of key, which I hope is harder to pick, overall I am very happy with the purchase.
I bought a coupler lock for when my boat/trailer are detached from my tow vehicle and I bought a pin dog bone lock for the coupler when boat/trailer are attached to tow vehicle like when parked at the lake boat in water.
We have a flat trailer and a boat trailer that we wanted to be able to secure to our vehicle. With the unusual size we looked at number of places but like other "special" items we found them at etrailer.com. They shipped timely and are of a good quality.
I have bought quite a few items from etrailer and I have not been disappointed.
This particular coupler latch lock is built better and I especially like the round key.
I like that you don’t need the key to engage this lock. Mechanism feels smooth.
