Should Trailer Hub Grease Seal Be Greased
Question:
I’m installing new seals and bearings and I’m wondering if I need to put a small amount of grease on the rubber inside the lip seal that runs on the spindle. Or should it run dry.

Helpful Expert Reply:
It's not standard practice to put grease on the spindle where the lip of the seal rides so it's not a requirement. It wouldn't hurt to do so though so if you are inclined feel free.
