All right. Today we're going to show you part number EM09095 from Erickson. This is their stainless steel truck or trailer anchor. A few things to know about this anchor point, is that with this part number you get two anchor points, and also, it's constructed from stainless steel. It's also ready 1,200 pounds. The hardware we use to install it does not come with the kit, so you want to use your favorite hardware, depending on the location you're going to install it: on trailer or truck. We have one already installed. We have the other one that's not installed yet. We'll also cover a few more features.

First up, it has the countersunk holes in here so your pan head screws will fit nicely inside there. The drill that you want to use, that seems to work the best, is a 13/64 drill bit. Our bolt pattern on here is going to be 1 3/8 inches from here to here, and this dimension's going to be about one inch. Not much to it. Let's go ahead and install it on the other side of our trailer. The location's obviously going to vary from application trailer to trailer. The main that the manufacturer states, that you want your attachment point, or anchor point, going to some steel on the trailer. On the edge of a rail here, it's not going to be a problem.

However, if we wanted to install it on the deck, we would have to make sure we have some of the steel underneath. If we look at it from the top, this way. In this case, if it was on a deck, you're going to have your anchor point, your wooden deck, and then your support structure underneath that's steel. You just have to have long enough screws to reach through your deck and into your steel. Once we've found a location for our anchor point, we'll go ahead and just put it into place. You can just hold it and mark the holes, or, if you can, maybe use something to clamp it down. We can just go ahead and use a drill bit to make our starting points. You can mark your holes that way.

Go ahead and take that out of the way and drill the holes. All right. Now the manufacturer recommends a pan head screw to attach it. Underneath, it would be a good idea to use a lock washer, and flat washer, and a nut. Okay. In just those two steps, our anchor point is installed and it's ready for service. Now you can use your favorite tie down point and secure your cargo. All right, and with that, that will finish it for part number EM09095.

Very happy with these 1200 lb stainless steel anchors for my trailer. Was able to position out of the way and i can get 3 strap hooks anchored on them. Mounting hardware not included. I anchored with stainless steel washers and nuts on the underside. Worked perfect for my application.

by:

I used the anchors for tarp straps on my trailer. The stainless anchors will not rust when attached to my aluminum trailer.

Thanks for your business and your review, Terry. I am glad you mentioned the stainless anchors attaching to your aluminum trailer. To avoid seizing from galling, you will need to use an anti-seize product like [Rachael, please recommend correct product] when combining stainless steel and aluminum.

Whenever there are two dissimilar metals in direct contact with each other, corrosion can occur over time. Using stainless fasteners can help, but anything you could do to isolate the anchors from being in direct contact with the aluminum trailer would be helpful to prevent corrosion.

The Erickson anchor points worked wonderful for tie down spots around the outside of a utility trailer I built. I did however drill the four holes larger and used normal hex head bolts instead of flush mount heads. The stainless steel looks great and should never rust. I would buy them again if I needed some sort of anchoring system.

After placing my order I recieved updates on the progress of my order (in process, shipped with tracking number). So I would give the customer service team an A+.

Product itself arrived in good condition and matched exactly what we have been looking for. Will make using tie downs on our trailer much easier!

Just purchased two kayak 's and need a way to lock them up. So I mounted the brackets to the boats and was able to lock them to a heavy cable .

I looked EVERYWHERE for these tie downs
with a solid base. Finally found them on etrailer. Very well made and worked like a charm for what I am building. These were the only solid ring tie downs that are 1 inch high to except multiple S hooks .

The Erickson Anchors you mentioned, # EM09095, are not available in black. With a little sandpaper, some primer designed to use with stainless, and paint, you can make them black if you wish. • What is the Mounting Hole Diameter for the Erickson tie Down Anchors EM09095
You would want to use countersunk screws since the holes in the Erickson tie down anchors # EM09095 are countersunk. I went out to the warehouse and pulled one of these anchor sets to measure the diameter of the hole width for the head and threaded part of a screw. For the threaded part of the screw use a 5mm. The countersunk head can be as large as 8.75mm in diameter. A 9mm diameter head would be too large for the screw head to sit flush with the top of the anchor.
