Today we're going to be taking a look at the Erikson Surface Mount E-coated Steel Rope Ring Tie Down Anchor, Part Number EM59113. It's made of a strong steel construction. It's got a nice black e-coat finish. We know we won't have any problem with any rust of any type of corrosion on this metal. The ring itself is 3/16 of an inch thick, and the diameter of it is 2 inches. The maximum load bearing for this anchor ring is 200 pounds.

As you can see the ring is going to provide an excellent attachment point, when you're using a tie down, bungees or any type of standard rope that you may use. Now the hardware that's included, you get the anchor ring, and the surface mount. You will however need to come up with some screws, perhaps some wood screws or self-tapping screws. I would recommend using screws over nails. Now let's go ahead and attach a strap to it, and see how it works our with our cargo on our trailer. The strap I'm using is the Erikson Cam Buckle. The part number is EM51215.

I'm going to run my S-hook down, attach it to my anchor ring, and tighten it up. As you can see, it provides a nice snug fit for our strap and over our boxes rather than having to worry about the S hook sliding around on the outside of our trailer. We know it's not going to go anywhere. You can simply attach your anchor ring to your trailer or truck bed or anywhere else you might use a tie down. Now that we've gone over some of the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to install it. Our surface mount, our D ring are going to be apart and separate, so we want to make sure before we install the surface mount that we have our ring on there.

Then we're ready to go. On the outside of my trailer here, I've got a 2x4 that we can mount it to. You can mount it to any surface you want, but I'm just going to go ahead and mount it to this wood surface. Then I grab some screws out of my shed. We'll go ahead and start our first one in.

It doesn't need to be perfect, but you can draw a line or line it up any way you want to your mounting surface. We'll go ahead and put that first one in.
