Video Transcript for Erickson Tie Down Anchors - Trailer Tie-Down Anchors - EM09094 Review

Speaker: Today well be reviewing part number EN09094. These are the Erickson Hide-A-Hook Truck or Trailer Anchors. This is a 2 pack and each anchor is going to be rated at 1200 pounds. The folding hooks mount to your truck or trailer to provide good anchoring points for rope or cord. They also have these nice pads that go underneath each anchor point to help protect the finish of your truck or trailer. They have a nice low profile design.

You can see with this anchor here, I have it folded away, so it keeps it down and out of the way, so that way it doesnt take up any additional space or any more space than it needs to. With it in the up position, you just wrap your cable or cord or rope around there and you should be set to go. It does have 4 pre-drilled holes, so that way it can easily mount and receive the included hardware. A few measurements to go over real quick, the overall length of each one of these is going to measure 3-9/16 of an inch. In width, theyre going to measure 2-1/8 of an inch. The distance from the center of these 2 holes, center on center is going to measure 5/8 of an inch and center to center between these 2 holes are going to measure 2-3/8 of an inch. Now when its in the folded down position, its going to give us an overall height of about inch.

When the hook is fully extended, its going to give us an overall height of about an inch and a half. Thats going to do it for todays review of part number EM09094. These are the Erickson Hide-A-Hook Truck or Trailer Anchors. .

Best piece I've seen for light duty hold-downs for my El Camino. Great product and great company to deal with.

by:

Great Service

by:

Excellent…

This is something that truck manufacturers should have as a factory option.

I put three of these on each side of my truck and two on the tailgate. I use them constantly and they are still as good as ever after over a year!

by:

Had these installed on the bed side of my truck (weather guard brand) tool box on my truck. there great and last forever!. I purchased my first ones back in 1998 and are still there today and use them frequently since I carry many table saws, tile saws, furniture, lumber etc...... I couldn't find any new ones in storesfor my new truck but came upon this web site and was happy they had them. Thank you ... these are a great and durable product!

by:

I bought six of these tie-down cleats for my '86 El Camino! Just rec'd them, haven't installed yet. They are well made, very attractive and appear to have a good system to eliminate rattle when closed (not under load). They will more than do the job I had in mind for them! These cleats are well worth the price!

Customer service at etrailer was SUPER. Thanks again!

Wanted some way to tie a load on my dodge Dakota. These work great! And have gotten comments on them from strangers

by:

The product it self functions perfectly, the screws that came with it hold it a lot better than i had expected. I mounted these on my 1969 El Camino and they look really good and work great, not to mention the customer service was fantastic, I needed these fast and the lady who helped said it usually would take a day to process but she said she'd make sure they left as soon as possible, i got an email that night saying they would leave in the morning.

by:

These are the best tie down hooks. Been using these on all my trucks for years, no rust.

by:

I like this product, looks well built.
I
like how it's flat when it's not in use, and easy to flip it out.
For the price it's the best quality, deliver was fast, accurate.
I would recommend this product for any pick up owner.

by:

by:

Great little add-ons for Diamondback tonneau. Easy to install with self-tapping screws.

by:

Very rarely do I give reviews, but after a year of constant use, I am very happy with how they have held up as well as how they perform on a very regular basis. Thank you very much

by:

The chrome finish is spectacular. I ordered the same items from [ online vendor] and returned them because the chrome finish was pitted and dull. Your items cost a bit more but the extra cost was more than worth it.

  • Will the Erickson Hide-A-Hook Tie Downs Support a 450 lb Sport Bike in the Bed of a 1972 El Camino
The Erickson Hide-A-Hook Tie Downs, # EM09094, are heavy duty enough to hold your 450 lb sport bike, but you will want to consider the attachment location on your El Camino as well. Since this is a universal item, it is important for the installer to make sure they are mounted in a location that can support the weight of the bike. These tie downs have a weight capacity of 1,200 lbs per pair. It would be best to use 4 tie downs at each corner like you mentioned for added stability of the...

  • Recommended Tie Down Anchors for a Truck Cab Roof
I spoke with Thule to confirm. While it is entirely possible for the Replacement Tie-Down Cleat for TracRac Ladder Racks, part # TA01-27046, to be mounted directly to your truck roof, this is not recommended. As this is not the cleat's intended purpose, there are no specs concerning how much weight it can handle or how well it holds up when mounted directly to a vehicle. Instead, I recommend going with an anchor point that is intended for this use. One option is the Erickson Hide-A-Hook,...

  • Is There An Anti-Rattle Function On The Erikson Hide-A-Hook?
I pulled the parts and had a discussion with Erickson about your concern as we haven't had any customers mention a rattle with this product. There are no springs or suppressors to secure the hooks, but the design of this product would require a big jolt to make these hooks rattle. The pads that go underneath each anchor point will create sound dampening while protecting the finish of your El Camino. There are tiny teeth on the back of the hook near the top that grip into the rubber padding....

  • Mounting Base Dimensions for Erickson Hide-A-Hooks
I went to the warehouse and measured the base of the Hide a Hooks part # EM09094. The actual base is 3 9/16" by 2 1/8". As long as you have enough flat space available where you intend on mounting them on your f-150 they will work well for you. The mounting holes are separated by 2 3/8" and by 5/8" and they come with self tapping screws to complete the installation. We do recommend drilling small pilot holes to help the self tappers go in easier. Happy Hauling!

  • Is Drill Bit Needed to Install EM09094
The install screws that come with the Erickson Hide-A-Hook Truck or Trailer Anchor # EM09094 that you referenced are self-tapping which means you don't have to drill a pilot hole. Just use the assembly as a template and let the screws drill themselves into place.

  • Weight Capacity of Erickson Hide-A-Hook Anchor # EM09094 When Used with Included Screws
Yes, for the pair of the # EM09094 the weight capacity is 1,200 lbs. So as long as you install all of your anchors to a metal wall that is strong enough with the included screws these should work well to secure your ATV.

  • Are the Screws Included with Erickson Hide-A-Hook Anchors Self-Tapping Screws
The screws for the Erickson Hide-A-Hook # EM09094 are indeed self-tapping. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to drill some small pilot holes to make it easier to install them. I have included a link to a video review of the hooks for you.

  • Is Erickson Hide-A-Hook Anchor # EM09094 Spring Loaded
The Erickson Hide-A-Hook anchor, part # EM09094 is not spring loaded. There is a slight amount of friction keeping it in the closed position, but the tension provided by the tie-down or bungee would be needed to keep it in the open position.

The Erickson Hide-A-Hook Truck or Trailer Anchors # EM09094 are 3-9/16" long and 2-1/8" tall. • Can Stake Pockets be Used on Trailers & Are Erickson Hide-A-Hook Anchor Screws Self-Tapping
Yes, you can add stake pockets to your trailer, and can either choose bolt-on stake pockets or a welded-on stake pocket.
