Exterior Wall Vent Needed For A Furrion RV Range Hood

Question:

What vent do I need to install this in my RV? I do not have a vent installed today, and the specs say the hole for this vent is only 5-7/8inch whereas the vents that you sell are 10-1/2inch wide.

You're correct that the Furrion Ducted RV Range Hood with Light # FHO23SACRBL rear vent is only 5-7/8" long x 3-1/4" tall, whereas our vents are all larger at 10-1/2" wide x 3-3/4" tall. Typically there will be some insulation in the wall only allowing for a small bit of room for air to escape from the range hood and out the exterior vent. This is pretty typical is a residential setting as well. If you wanted to better control the way if vents you could also use HVAC tape to seal up the space so that the vented air could only flow in one direction.

As for the exterior vents, we currently offer the Ventline Exterior Wall Vent for RV Range Hood # V2111-55 (black) and # V2111-13 (white), which both come with a 1-3/4" collar that can be trimmed down to fit your trailer. I recommend using some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the mounting flange of the vent and some sealant # 344270341437-1 around the outer edge to prevent any water from leaking into the walls of the trailer.

If you find a smaller vent that matches the size of the range hood vent at your local hardware store you can also go that route. Just make sure you properly seal it to the wall so that water can't get in and ruin the wall of the trailer.
