Today we're going to be taking a look at the butterfly vent and the gasket from Polar Hardware. The butterfly vent is going to provide ventilation for your trailer or whatever it is that you would like to install it on. This can be used with polar roof ventilator. The PLR24 model. The unit is going to be made from a stainless steel construction, and it's going to have a nice polished finish. The unit is rust and corrosion resistant. You can see that it includes the vent and it's going to include the gasket.
It's going to to help create a nice tight seal and provide some cushion at the mounting surface. The diameter of the unit measuring straight across, going from edge to edge. That looks to measure about 7 1/4 of and inch in diameter. The mount holes, are going to be separated apart from one another on center. Taking a measurement this way by 4 and 9/16 of an inch. If we we're to go straight across, the mounted holes are going to be separated on center by 6 1/2 inches.
Your mounting hardware is sold separately, so that's not included. The mount hole diameter looks to be right at a 1/4 of an inch. The opening of the unit, so you can see that I have it open again butterfly style. It's got the little tab there. It's going to allow you to easily close the vent and open it. If we take a look at the opening measuring from this edge right here to this edge right here.
That's going to give a measurement of 5 11/16 of an inch going straight across. Flipping it over. If we take a measurement from the edge of one blade to the edge of the other. That's going to give a measurement of 5 7/8 of an inch. This is not a water proof design. When installing it, we do recommend installing it on the side of you trailer.
With the openings running front to back or parallel to the ground. It would be installed like this on the side of your trailer. This mounting option will be the best position for keeping out the most amount of moisture. If you're in a situation where the vent is exposed to a lot of moisture. That's going to do it for today's look at the butterfly vent and gasket from Polar Hardware.
