Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com.Today we're taking a look at the privacy latch for RV screen doors. This is going to come in this nice rich gold color, so it's going to match your interior if it has that same gold kind of configuration.This is just going to be an easy to use, easy to install latch. Basically we'll just have the button on the outside so we can operate that latch mechanism on the inside. So if you press in on that button, should allow your latch to close, provided that this little peg isn't over in the lock position. If it is, then no one can open your door.But from the other side, you can just press down on that lever.

Same thing though, if that lock post is in the lock position, you won't be able to open that up. But you can still operate that from the inside by just flipping that little lock over.Comes with also the catch for our pad or our striker for this. So as the door closes it pushes against our little spring piece and then closes there and holds it in place. Also comes the hardware to get that installed. You'll just need to drill out three holes to allow for the two bolts to go through and also for that center section with the little rectangular post, so about a five sixteenth inch hole should do it.

The center post might need to be waddled out a little bit to allow that spindle to turn fully without coming in contact with any of the door material.As far as the width of our handles, the outside portion is going to be two and a half inches wide, and about three quarters of an inch deep, and about an inch and three quarters tall. The inside portion is about two and three quarters inches long, by about two and three quarter inches wide, and about two inches deep. Our striker portion from the outside of those mounting flanges: about two and a quarter inch, by a half inch, and then another seven sixteenths, I'd say.The mounting holes, or the hardware holes, are about one and three quarter inches apart, center to center. So if that matches up with the original hardware that you had on your RV, this should work out just fine. If not, you might need to make some new hardware holes for this.This is covered by a lifetime warranty from JR products.
