Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra RV Sewer Hose Hatch, this attaches to 4 inch PVC pipe to create a storage area for your sewer hose or other items. Its made from a durable plastic construction and it's white in color. The hatch door is lockable. You can see it's got a lock hole installed there and it's going to come with two keys. There's also going to be a thumb latch that is included. That can replace the lock hole if desired. It's also going to come with your installation putty tape and the necessary mounting hardware.
You can see all the mounting holes it has going around this area here of the flange of the unit. The screw heads are painted to match the color of the hatch. The screw heads are going to be painted white. Taking a look at the overall dimensions real quick. Going this direction, it's going to give us a measurement of about 7 and 5/8 of an inch. Going this direction we're looking at about 6 and a half inches.
That flange is going to have a length measurement of 7/8 of an inch, going all the way around the perimeter. If we take a depth measurement from the back of the flange to the very back of the unit, we're looking at a depth of about 2 and a half inches. Overall depth, so from the very front of the unit to the very back, we're looking at about 3 inches. It does require a cutout. That's going to be this piece right here, at the mounting location. That cutout is going to need to measure, about 5 and 7/8 of an inch wide by 4 and 3 quarters of an inch.
Then the diameter right here, we're going to do an internal and external diameter of the area where you connect the PVC pipe. PVC pipe is sold separately. That's going to give us an internal diameter of 4 and 1 quarters inches. External diameter, right around 4 and a half inches. Really nice design. You can see here that it opens.
Give you easy access to get your stuff out as you need to, and then when you're ready to lock it, put the key in, give it about a quarter of a turn and now it's locked. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra RV Sewer Hose Hatch.

The product is very good - well made, and with choice of the door latch, either lock or turn knob - came with installation screws as shown.
I would have given it a "excellent" - however, the shipping costs are a drawback with etrailer. Some products I would have ordered are prohibitive after factoring in shipping.
but again - the products are as shown and seem high quality.
