This converter charger converts AC shore power into DC power and charges your battery bank. The converter uses a higher voltage output to provide the proper charging profile for lithium batteries. It upgrades the stock converter in your Progressive Dynamics 60-amp 4500 Series RV Power Control Center.
Built for lithium batteries, this unit uses a higher output voltage than a typical converter charger, which provides a fast, complete charge. The charger also extends battery life since it utilizes the appropriate charging profile. Additionally, it's compatible with your battery's internal Battery Management System (BMS), which helps manage charging by monitoring the battery state and balancing cell voltage.
The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent, which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature of the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly.

Converter section still works great with my lithium battery bank. I had replaced my 90 amp with this 60 amp because the 90 amp was a bit of a strain on my Honda 2000 generator when the sun wasnt shining for solar I mostly boondock. Charging is slower, of course, but the Honda runs the converter at a comfortable pace. Replacement was slightly different fewer wires but simple and, when I did have a question, PD consultants were helpful as always. They are among the best Ive ever dealt with.
The help i got with the tech info was just unreal over the top help never before with a service tech there needs to be more gold stars

After a year, the converter is working flawlessly. I only have one suggestion for potential purchaser. Consider a lower amperage unit. Seriously, this 60 amp unit charges my lithium batteries VERY fast. But my trailer is wired for 50a or 30a. When we only have 30a hookups the converter draws so much power that we cant run much else until its done brining the batteries back up to charge. It draws about 6 amps AC. Since the water heater draws about the same, were at 12 amps of the 30 amps. Turn the AC on right after you get to camp while the batteries are still recharging and youre likely to trip a 30 amp circuit. Knowing what I now know I think I would have bought the 40amp version. I wish the manufacturer would put a lowhigh charge switch on the unit. But this isnt really a complaint, it does recharge the batteries after a day on the road in just 30 minutes or so. And it works great.
