Can I Use ShockStrap Ratchet Straps on Lightweight Race Car?
Question:
Hello: Can these straps be used to tie-down an automobile to a car trailer? My car weighs approx. 2,700 lbs and I have a Featherlite open car trailer. Im currently using conventional straps, matched to the job requirements my recollection is that theyre 10,000 # weight limit, so, more than enough capability for the application. The car does not have an e-brake its a race car and the car travels on the trailer with the transmission in neutral to avoid stress on the drivetrain. The front wheels are chocked, but, the rears are not. So, Im worried about belt slip as I travel, allowing the car to roll if the belts loosen. This is why these straps are of possible interest to me. Thanks,

Yes. You can use the ShockStrap Ratchet Straps # 297-9RSBB-M on your race car with an approximate weight of 2700-lbs. These straps have a working load limit of 2000-lbs each, so all 4 of them attached to your trailer and car will provide an extremely secure connection, and you won't have to worry about the straps coming loose during travel. These straps come in a set of 4 and are 2 inches wide x 9 feet long.
For what it's worth, our contact over at ShockStrap mentioned that Kubota has been using these straps when it comes time to move their different equipment around on trailers without failure.
