Can the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB230101 Fit a 16 ft 12K LoadRite Boat Trailer
Question:
Hello Would there be any issues installing this on a LoadRite 16 ft. trailer, 16F1200WT. Weight capacity is 1200lbs, not sure of the tongue weight. If it Is ok to use it, is there a specific distance from the coupler that the hinge needs to be? Thanks for the help, just a little nervous cutting the frame but I really need to get my boat into my garage. Thank you

The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB230101 will work perfectly for your LoadRite 16 foot boat trailer as long as the tongue measures 2 x 3 inches and the trailer tongue thickness is between 1.88 and .120 inches.
It has a weight capacity of 5,000 lbs so it will be more than strong enough for your boat weight capacity of 1,200 lbs (keep in mind that this will not raise your boat trailer capacity). According to the table that is included with the instructions for a 2 x 3 inch and 3 x 3 inch tongue you will be able to incorporate a Max Pivot Length of 48 inches. At 48 inches your Max Tongue Load will be limited to 260 lbs which should not be a problem for you since your Tongue Weight (TW) should be 10-15 percent of your trailer weight. At 1,200 lbs your TW should be 120-180 lbs.
You will also want to make sure that if you have hydraulic brakes that the line is flexible, like part # T0777300, at the pivot point.
