Today we're going to take a look at the Superwinch S7500 SR Winch. It has a synthetic rope, a roller hawse fairlead, and a 7,500 pound weight capacity. Now this Superwinch trailer winch will pull 7,500 pounds with a 3.6 horsepower permanent magnet motor that's driven through an all steel, three stage planetary gear box at 26 feet per minute. It has a nice custom aluminum housing which is light and strong and being able to be stepped on was part of the design in this. It has a three spool control here that features this aluminum kick flip lever that can be operated by your foot. It's very smart and simple with no parts to rust. It has the smooth rollers that will handle the bulk of keeping your winch line centered while the knuckles on the end here will ensure even angle pulls are covered. Again the rated line pull on this is 7,500 pounds, the motor is a sealed 3.6 HP magnet motor, and the gearing is 3-stage planetary gear, and they use a steal gear alloy for nice long life.
The gear ratio is 249:1. The drum diameter is 2.5 inches, the drum length is 4.87 inches. It does use a two hole reinforced drum to prevent the rope from detaching. It has in motor braking, 100% load holding. We've mentioned the innovative aluminum kick flip free spool lever here. When you kick it up, it will be able to free spool and when you kick it down it engages.
Very simple. The rope they use on this is a 5/16 inch diameter, 55 foot long synthetic rope. It has this nice drum cover here that you can pop it of to access your rope. This will help when you put it on to seal out the elements from getting into the rope or your drum. Has sealed solenoid, circuit breaker protected. On the back here you'll notice it has the battery leads. They're five foot long and they use a five gauge wire, your black for your negative and your red with a circuit protection here for your positive. We did mention if you look up at the front here it has this nice exclusive roller hawse fairlead with the stainless steal rollers and the knuckles on the end.
Also attached to the rope it has this heavy duty forged clevis-pinned latched hook with the hand saver. The baseplate is attached to the bottom that the fairlead is attached to. It's a four bolt mounting base plate that's included. It comes with this 30 foot long custom rocker remote. You can see it has a rocker switch for in or out, and you just plug it in right up at the top here, pop off the cap to have a little white marker and the white marker there helps you line it up correctly. You just push it on and you're ready to operate it.
It gives you again 30 feet length. It does come with this nice installation manual and users guide. And just to give you an idea of the size of this we're going to put a tape measure on it. From the very end to the very end, overall length is right about 19 inches. The height is going to be five and a half inches. The depth is also five and a half inches. Now with the mounting plate installed, and the fairlead it adds about two inches longer in front and an inch longer in the back. But that should do it for the review on the Superwinch S7500 SR Winch with the synthetic rope, the roller hawse fairlead and a 7,500 pound weight capacity.

Extremely happy with my recent purchase of a Superwinch S7500 (synthetic rope). It arrived within a few days and etrailer’s website directed me to a local installer with whom I was also very pleased. The installation in my car hauler was easy, matching the exact bolt pattern of my old winch. I look forward to many years of hauling and easy winching my classic car!

Seems well made but I don’t know why they didn’t tap threads in the bottom of the unit instead of the loose nuts that fall out when you try and install. The bolts that came with it were too short for the 3/4” plywood floor in my trailer. So what should have taken 1 hour to install took 3-1/2 hours after I had to go to two hardware stores to find metric bolts that would work with the square nuts supplied. Frustrating. I’ll know more when I use it to pull my car into the trailer.

This wench is exactly what I was looking for. It's well built and has plenty of pulling power for my car hauler. I like the idea of having the longer remote and the battery cables are the perfect length for either battery on the ground or attached battery box. The bolt on pattern worked out perfect for my existing mount, easy set up and operations. Absolutely love it. Definitely exceeded my expectations! Not only is the wench great but everything else was too, great customer service, great selection and an informative website with product videos. I've been dealing with etrailer for a number of years. The service and prices are the best. I just purchased the S5000 Superwinch for my race car trailer to replace the 16 year old Superwinch. WOW! what a difference. Also it fit in the old blot mounting holes. This bad boy is super quiet when compared to the old one and it pulls my car on without any drama. Not cheap but I'd recommend this item to anyone looking for a really good winch with this capacity.

This winch worked great until last week . While pulling a log up a hill it started to slow down and smoke I quit using it till it cooled down and was able to finish the pull ,but the next time I used it it barely moved and seemed like it was slipping inside , I called etrailer and they said to ship it to them and it would be repaired or replaced, I will update this when I get it back , but so far service has been great.

We deal in Pace American, Haulmark, Rance, Liberty and Imperial trailer brands and frequently install winches. We normally use the S5000 Superwinch but it wasn't available so ordered the S5500. Its more powerful but doesn't have the tensioner to keep the spool from spinning freely which causes the cable to bunch up on spool.
Still a good value.

Very impressed with the order process the super wench S5500 is heavy then you might think you will need to order the battery terminal ports red an black for better operation of the unit item #DW05310-1 and item #DW05311-1 but overall very impressed with the purchase.

The winch works great. Pulls the car into the trailer with no effort and I like workability of the rope instead of the metal cable I had on my other winch. The metal cable always made me nervous when I would winch the car into the trailer.
