Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this GSI Outdoors pepper mill. This is a compact and lightweight grinder that will allow you to enjoy some fresh ground pepper while you're out camping. It's got a slim and ergonomic shape so it's very easy to hold onto as you're turning that so that you get your fresh ground pepper.It's right about three inches in total height, and only about an inch and a quarter wide by an inch and a quarter deep. This only weighs about two and a half ounces and it holds up to .8 ounces. It is a nice coat polyester construction with a stainless steel grinding bur.
So it's going to be very durable and weather resistant. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty, so you can trust it's going to hold up well and do a good job for you.The dust cap here is going to seal on there to prevent any pepper spills and offer a nice, comfortable grip while we're grinding. The mechanism inside there is adjustable. You can see our bolt on the top here can be loosened with a screwdriver, probably also use your keys or maybe a coin, something along those lines, anything that's going to give you that a flat blade kind of feel so you can open that up, pour your unground pepper in there, seal that up. But as you're tightening that nut on there, it's also going to be determining the size of your opening.
You can see on the bottom there, so that will determine how coarse or fine your pepper is by making that opening larger or smaller. Obviously, if it's a smaller opening, the pepper is going to stay inside longer and get ground until it's small enough to pass through that opening.So depending on your preference, how coarse or fine you want that pepper to be, you can just simply twist that knob there, and it will allow that opening to adjust. So very simple, but effective way of having fresh ground pepper at your campsite. I think that cap is going to be very important to make sure that obviously you're not going to have to worry about spilling all your pepper as you're traveling around, whether you have this in your backpack or in your camper. I think you'll be very happy with it.
