Hi everybody. My name is Andy with etrailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a look at, Coghlans 13 function, multi-tool pocket knife. If you're looking for an affordable, highly visible pocket knife with quite a bit of functionality, this might be the pocket knife for you. Let's take a closer look at it. What I like, first off with this knife is, just the functionality and the visibility of it as well.

Especially if you're out in the woods, you're taking a hike and you pull this out of your pocket to use it briefly and it slips from your grip. With this casing, I think it's going to be very hard to lose this. It's not going to blend into the leaves or the grass or anything like that. So that's a really a nice feature of this particular knife is it's visibility. But also its functionality.

So let's begin with the main tool, that is always used on something like this. Of course, it's the large blade and it does have a pretty good edge on it. It probably could use some sharpening, once you get it out of the box. But coming out of the box, it has a pretty good edge. And just to kind of give you an idea of how long this large blade is, from the base of the shank.

We're sitting at about two and a half inches long. So that is the large blade. And as we kind of moved down the row of functions here. The next is a saw blade. And I have a similar knife that has a solid blade like this.

And I have found it to be quite useful, especially when you're out in the woods and you're needing to trim some sticks off of a tree, or if you're in your yard and you want to do some minor tree trimming. This little saw blade, even though it's small is quite powerful, and it is really nice and sharp. I think you'd be able to get a lot of use out of this solid blade. As we're moving down the line here, this knife also has a fish scaler with a disgorger. And of course you can use that disgorger to get a hooks out of fish that you have caught. And so that's a nice handy feature of this knife. And then I always carry a knife similar to this with me. It's one of my everyday carry items. And I always try to have a knife that scott or a handy pair of scissors. I almost feel lost without a knife, having a good pair of scissors. This is good for cutting a thread off of a shirt, trimming your beard. Sometimes you can even use it to trim your fingernails, cut some wire. It's very handy to have. And that's a part of the functions of this knife. And as we're finishing out this side of the knife, we do have our medium head straight slot screwdriver that can also be used in some cases for a Phillips head screw. And then of course the combination bottle opener as well. And then the last function on this side of the knife is a nice can opener. You can use this to open your cans of tuna or cans of soup. And has a nice aggressive point there to get right into the top of that can. We wanna flip over here to the other side, and we got quite a bit of functions over here. I'm going to begin with the corkscrew and not only is that good for removing corks from a bottle, but I have found it handy to remove knots from cords. We you can just begin to work this through a knot. And it's a really good tool that help you untangle knots on chords. And then we have an owl in all that has a little hole here that you can use to thread, maybe some leather strips. Depending on what you're using that for. So that gives it a little more functionality as well. Then we do have a nice, a nail file with a cleaner. So your nails are always looking in good condition. And then we have a, just a standard hole puncher here. And the edge here is not really all that sharp. The idea is it just gets a hole punched in, whatever you need a hole punch through. And then it's got a good enough point that it should do with the job there. And then finally we have, a fully rounded Phillips screwdriver. And what I like about this, is where this Phillips screwdriver is. It kind of gives you a nice grip and gives you the ability to give those screws just a little bit of torque, whether you're tightening or losing it. So that's always a good feature to have with the knife that you carry on an everyday basis. Rounding out the features, we have a toothpick and I find myself using something like this from knives that I carry quite a bit. Make sure that you're never caught off guard with food stuck in your teeth. And then we have our trustee set of tweezers. Good for getting the occasional split out of your finger, or grabbing things that your fingers aren't able to get. That's again, a nice item here that is included with this knife. So that about rounds out all of the functions and features on this particular knife. One other thing I will mention that it does come with a key ring. The overall length of this knife, including the key ring coming out here a little bit. This sitting at about three and a half inches long.
