Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Orion Emergency Glow Stick Kit. Now these are going to be a nice kit to have for emergencies, whether you're out on the road or out on the water. These are going to provide us with white, green and red glow sticks. So if we're in an emergency situation we can have a way to signal that we're in distress.

It can also provide a nightlight for camping situations and just all around a good thing to have in just in case.So it's going to come with two of each color. I have these guys in their packages still so they're still ready to go, but it's been a few hours since we first cracked these and I wanted to wait until it's been about six hours just so you can see where they're at at this point. So I'm going to turn the lights out in my studio and we can take a look at them in the dark just to see how bright they are even six hours later.So it's pretty dim on my camera. I'll boost it up a little bit so you can get a better idea of where we're at. So there we go.

Can see our green is still holding strong. And about six hours later the green and the red are rated for 12 hours of use. And even now still pretty bright. I'm just shaking it to kind of charge it up. The red is doing okay, but it's not super, super bright.

Our white is pretty, pretty dim at this point. This one's only rated for eight hours, but if you shake it, it does kind of recharge that chemical reaction or it gets a bit brighter when you do that. So just giving you idea of what it looks like in a low light situation.So now we can turn my lights back on and we'll talk about the size and the measurements here. Okay. It's kind of hard to get the camera to focus on something that's bright and then dim all at the same time.

It does come with a lanyard so you can hang it from something if you need to either wear it around your neck or just hang it from the inside of your tent or maybe off the side of your boat, wherever you are. The lanyard, I'll measure that first. Measures about 16 inches, so about a foot and four inches. Each of our glow sticks measures about five inches long. And that's going to be the same. Well, our red one is about five and a half inches long and our white is about the same, about five and a half inches. So the green is just the one that's about five inches. Yeah, about five and five inches there.Each of them is going to hold about 10 milliliters of liquid. It is nontoxic and non-flammable, so it's going to be safe even for the kids to handle. It's easy to activate, you just remove them from the foil wrapper, crack them to start that chemical reaction inside each of the tubes and should be good to go from there. You can always shake it to get everything to kind of mix in a little bit faster and get that reaction going.But that's pretty much it for our look at the Orion Emergency Glow Stick Kit. Again, these are floatable so they can float on top of the water if need be or not be damaged by being in the water at all.
