Today we're going to take a look at the Orion Fire Pit Pro Ultimate Outdoor Campfire Starters. This is for a quantity of 12. I'm going to take them out, you can see it comes in four bags of three in each bag. Now these fire starters are designed to ignite, to light a fire in your outdoor fire pit or at your camp ground. They are very easy to ignite, there's no matches, lighter or kindling required. Basically, you just scratch the flare cap against the flare tip to light and place into the camp fire.
These are environmentally safe constructions, it's a self consuming material. There's no extra waste to clean up and there's no dangerous chemicals in them so it means it's safe to cook over the campfire with this flame. The flare ignition is wind proof and waterproof, works even when used with damp wood. As you can see it's a nice small compact size which is great for camping and back packing. Now this also could be used as a signal flare for roadside emergency, basically just ignite it and place it on the roadside to signal for help. These are made in the USA.
The specs on this, the flare burning time is seven minutes, the quantity, as you can see here is twelve, four bags of three. Basically, to ignite it it's very simple all you do is this lid right here on the top, pop that lid off and that'll expose the scratch surface on the cap. You twist and remove the cap to expose the black button on the flare itself. Then while pushing that black ignition button against the scratch sticker on the cap, just strike it quickly away from your face and body and it will ignite it and then just put it into your fire or into your camp fire. I have used these in the past, but am no longer able to find them in stores. As road flares, these are not of much use to anyone. However, as a fire starter, they are priceless. They burn hot to ignite most anything, including damp materials. The burn out quickly so you don't end up with dealing with a long-burning flare. They're small and easily added to a back pack. But the real benefit is that you can throw them from a distance and avoid being close to the fire, which is very handy if you have added any liquid fuels. Not that I recommend adding liquid fuels.
While I don't personally use these camping, they would be excellent for that. I use them most often when I have brush piles on my property to burn.
etrailer.com has a great price on these 7 minute signal flares. I bought 2 boxes of 12 signal flares. I bought 24 signal flares for the wide range of uses for them.
They are great to keep a pack (pack includes 3 signal flares) in each vehicle for emergencies such as breakdowns or accidents. They are great for signaling for help also.
They are a great way to start a long lasting fire, even with slightly wet wood.
I am using them for bugging out due to their relatively small size, weight, and multiple applications.
You can fit nearly 3 flares in the length of one traditional emergency flare. These are simply a “must have” and etrailer has the best price I could find.

Orion Fire Pit Pro Campfire Starter Mini Flares really work great. Tried one out and it was easy to start and burned for maybe 10 minutes. Strong flame. Could probably start a fire with this mini flare very easily even in difficult conditions. Self contained striking mechanism to light flare worked well. Good product! eTrailer.com got this to me quickly and in good condition. No problems at all.
Great way to start a camp fire or fire pit when you are away from home and your MAP gas torch. I have not had a chance to take it on a river camping trip, but the starters/flares did a great job on a test run in my fire pit. My daughter and friends loved them on their camping trip.

I took a chance on these for backpacking and camping and I have been pleasantly surprised so far. These little flares are small, fairly light and absolutely do the job. The flame burns hot for several minutes and has been more than enough to get a fire going in wet conditions with less-than-ideal wood. I will be ordering more, for sure!
A great pocket sized flare that doesn't take up much room. Plenty of burn time to start a fire even with damp wood. A safe alternative to start a fire compared to flammable fuels. And they can still be used as short burn road flares when needed. Five Stars
I've tested this out at a Boy Scout camp out in February. It was pretty cold, but the scouts gathered some kindling and once I lit this firestarter, there was no question that we would easily start a fire, which we did. I plan on putting at least one of these in all my survival kits and Get Home Bags. There is no better way to start a fire in an emergency than with these. If you fall in a frozen river/lake and need to start a fire, this will be the easiest and fastest way to do with with limited mobility. Or, if all your tinder and kindling got wet and you need to start a fire, this will dry it out and get your fire going. I love this stuff!
This company excels at keeping customers informed about their orders. My recent order was delayed b/c of supply chain issues. I ordered these fire starters after regular hrs. on November 19/2018-they were
shipped out the next business day, but I was pretty sure I wouldn't see them for
several weeks to a months time as Canada Post was on a strike mandate and they
were doing rotating walkouts across the country.
The parcel arrived November 28/2018, but I wasn't home to receive it. I picked it up
at my local Post office 2 days later. It arrived in great condition too.
These fire starters are going to work great-gonna put them in some winter survival kits
I'm making up for several vehicles.

The Orion Fire Pit Pros are exactly what I ordered. I have test one full package of three, and from the time of spark to the time it extinguished they were 9 minute burns.
Now for etrailer. I ordered this product from two other sources and from the beginning of each these sources did nothing but give me the run around after taking my money. However etrailer gave me no run around and was able to get the product out to me immediately. I have nothing but GREAT experiences with etrailer. From here out I will always check with etrailer to see if they carry the products that I am in search of before trusting numerous other companies.

These are awesome. It helps to have some smaller kindling or paper etc. but this could start a cluster of just logs if you can figure out a way to drop it in to the center of a bundle or pair of firewood. I ordered more of these. Pricey but highly functional.

These work just as described, well maybe a little better! Took some camping this year and everyone was amazed with how well they worked (one guy just tossed it into the bottom of the fire pit, I explained to him they are not Magic, you actually have to point the flame at the wood, may not go with him any more.) I just ordered 72 more, everyone wanted me to pick some up for them. Fast shipping too, I like Etrairer.
I have no doubt these will work as advertised, I've used there older style fire starter flares and they will dry out anything. It's nice they are self consuming so thumbs up to orion...R
Haven't installed the parts yet. However, everything came packed perfectly and professionally. Parts look to be of great quality and shipping was WAY faster than estimated! Will definitely continue to keep buying trailer parts from etrailer!
I used one to start a fire and so far that is it, but it works great for that and seems to be bright enough to be used as an emergency signal too. Happy with the product and etrailer too, would recommend both.
