Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the AceCamp Survival Thermal Bag. A bag like this is going to be an important component in any of your survival preparedness kits. This only weighs about 2.4 ounces. So it's about two and a half slices of sandwich bread. And as you can see when we have it folded up like this, it could be mistaken for your lunch.

It's pretty compact. So it's not going to add much room to your backpack. Not going to be a lot of weight for you to carry, but when we expand it out, it is going to be very large. I'm about 63 to give you a reference. So this bag is going to allow us to survive in a hostile environment, if we're cut out on the trail, not able to get back to base camp or something along those lines.We can use this bag.

It's going to help reflect our body heat back to us to keep us warm. It's also going to help protect us from wind and water. So we can put it on the outside of our sleeping bag, or we can put it inside our sleeping bag to make our sleeping bag even more efficient. Now, keep in mind if you put it on the outside of your sleeping bag, it will help to keep your sleeping bag warm as well. So you can see I'm 63 and this bag is pretty much covering all of me.So even past my head here will be plenty of room for just about any size person.

It does have plenty of room on the inside here too, for your sleeping bag. So if you wanted to put your sleeping bag on the inside again, so that this is protecting the sleeping bag from water it would be a good idea. But it is important to have something like this because it's a first step towards shelter. Obviously, if you're in an emergency survival situation, shelter is one of the main components that you want to establish to keep yourself safe. So having this is going to help protect you from some of the elements.Obviously it's not going to be a barrier to animals or anything like that, but it will help you maintain your body heat or help prevent the wind from getting to you, which again can cool you down pretty quickly and it'll help keep the water off of you.

So if you don't already have something like this for your book bag or your travel pack that you're taking out on to the woods, I'd say this is a very important component that you should definitely pick up.
