Adjustable-channel, surge-type actuator includes a standard, heavy-duty coupler that can be mounted in three different positions to match your application. Unique roller design helps reduce resistance. For use with disc brakes.
Features:
Specs:
When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Today, we're going to take a look at the Titan weld-on adjustable channel disc brake actuator for the 2-5/16" diameter ball. Has a 14,000 pound weight capacity. Now this hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. Basically, what happens is when you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, the deceleration occurs and the momentum will push your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. So with the surge brake system, this actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. So the actuator will telescope applying force to the master cylinder that's back here, which in turn will supply the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage your trailer's brakes. This one has a unique roller design. It has rollers right here and right down here.
They reduce resistance during the telescoping to create straight line movement. And if you notice they have grease zerk fittings on the ends that you can put a grease cut on there and lubricate the rollers. Now, this is a sturdy, durable steel construction. Resists bending in any jackknife situations. It does include the adjustable channel and the coupler on this. You can see the channel does have four mounting holes.
So it gives you three, one, two, three, different mounting positions for the height of the coupler, for the range of the height of the coupler is four inches. It does include the breakaway kit right here. You can see the hook on the end on this chain. What you'll do is take this chain and hook it to your tow vehicle. So what happens is it's a safety in case your trailer comes detached from your tow vehicle, what will happen is it would cause the chain to pull this lever, which would activate your master cylinder again, apply the brakes on a runaway trailer. It does have a nice prime finish to it. And as I mentioned, it is a weld-on installation.
Application for this actuator is disc brakes. The ball size that the coupler fits on is a 2-5/16" diameter. Mounting this, it's designed to mount to a three inch wide channel tongue. Weight capacity, again, is 14,000 pounds. Maximum tongue weight capacity is 1400 pounds.Bet that should do it for the review on the Titan weld-on adjustable channel disc brake actuator for the 2-5/16" diameter ball..
