Video Transcript for Titan Adjustable Channel Mount Trailer Coupler Review T1882000

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the titan adjustable trailer coupler. So this one is gonna just need a couple things. One, we wanna make sure it's gonna fit the ball that we're gonna use for our hauling purposes. So this one's gonna have a two and five 16 inch ball. It is gonna have a capacity of 14,000 pounds. So just make sure you don't overload your trailer.

I think that's a pretty good amount of capacity. So it's pretty much gonna cover all your light duty medium duty stuff for the heavier duty stuff. We do have a version of this that is gonna be 21,000 pounds. So if you needed to get that, definitely go with that. You do want to get as much capacity as we think we're gonna use.

We might as well go overboard, cause why not Nothing's gonna break that way. So, one thing we are gonna need we are going to have a channel that is about three inches. That's what this is gonna fit into. It. Doesn't come with the channel and it does not come with mounting hardware either.

If you really wanted to. we have the same exact thing right here. This one comes with the channel. This one comes with the hardware as well. So if that's something that you need go ahead and grab this one, but it's the same exact part.

As you can see right here and we are gonna have multiple different holes. If you do go with 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 but notice on our trailer today they are using the second and third from the bottom. But then the bottom ones they're just using that for your safety chains. So if you don't have safety chains you need them to stay legal and safe on the road. So definitely grab those. If you have any already our latch is gonna be extremely heavy duty. It's not gonna be plastic or anything. It does have a little ring for your finger. I don't have the biggest fingers in the world but if I had gloves on it would still fit in there. So with this one, it'll stay open, which is nice. You just latch it up like that lower your trailer down onto your ball out. And, and you can come back through and latch it into place. We are gonna need a pin to go through here. So we have one today. It's not that big. So it really only needs to be a little less than an inch long. And the diameter just needs to be five 16 of an inch. So this is a little long, but it still works. So if you have something that's a little long it's just not gonna look too much, but it gets the job done which is what I'm really looking for. If I we're to compare this to a little bit simpler coupler I think the demco EZ latch is gonna be the go-to just because we can actually just lower this down without having to pull this up. So all we have to do is lower down and once it hits that ball, it'll slide up and then snap on. So that would be an upgrade. This isn't gonna be as heavy duty. You can get one, that'll be rated the same but just the fact that we have a plastic little lever here this won't last as long as the metal, in my opinion but I do think this is gonna be a great option for you. So let's go over some measurements. If you do go with this option we're not gonna have the mounting hardware included. Our mounting hardware is about five inches long and I did put some washers on the outsides just to make it a little bit easier to kind of sits down. So it's not rubbing on our little channel. So we'll definitely get ones that are at least five inches long and the diameter needs to be 5/8 of an inch. So let's go over some overall measurements overall. It's about nine and a half inches from the inside of the channel to the farthest point. And then from the center of the hitch pin hole or from the center of the hole to the end is about nine inches. And then the length that we're gonna add to our trailer is about eight. It's made of steel and it does have a powder coated finish to it. So it's not gonna rust away over time. So you can de rest assured that your trailer's gonna look great once you put this thing on there and then we will look at the titan adjustable trailer coupler..

the 1st one received was stuck on the truck. TI had to really fight to get it off of there. The replacement one does the same thing but I am able to get it uncoupled. Just takes some effort to do so.

by:

Everything was good! The bolt-on coupler came in the mail quickly. It bolted right on. There were no problems whatsoever! Thank you for your prompt service!

by:

I do love this hitch, its a monster, made very well. Only issue, and for me its small because I very rarely take my trailer off my truck, but releasing and buckling it back on is a little rough, not sure why, like I said, hardly ever take trailer off, so I didn't bother contacting etrailer for a replacement.

by:

It was just what I was looking for. Just a little disappointed that the 2 bolts needed to secure the hitch was not with this item. There was one bolt but not 2. It not the expense of having to purchase one. It just the inconvenience to having to go get one before I can use it.

by:

Latching mechanism is vey troublesome gets stuck on the ball

by:

Fast delivery and the item was as described. I personally did not catch that it was painted but may not be the same as shown. Not a big deal but was expecting it in black. NOBODY misrepresented the item I just missed it and would have still bought it anyway. But the company, etrailer was great.

by:

Couple works just fine

by:

Well built heavy duty product. Will be a huge improvement over the chinese coupler that come on my new dump trailer. Also plan on installing one on my tag trailer.
Great price and also super fast shipping
I will certainly use etrailer again

by:

replaced a cast coupler on a new trailer as I felt it not safe to pull a 22 foot trailer with a load. Works great.

by:

bolted right on, is rated above the trailer weight limit so I'm sure it will hold up. So far easy to hook up and unhook.

by:

This product works but you have to learn how to use it. When you drop the coupler on the ball it will not lock until you block the trailer wheel and move forward to seat the ball to the front of the coupler. To unhook you need to do he same thing. I never had this problem with the original coupler in the fifteen years it was on the trailer.

by:

I believe its the best out there. most trailer manufacturers only put a two bolt coupler on their trailers on their adjustable height couplers, giving a good chance to rock back and forth ovaling out the holes over time. this third bolt coupler eliminates the chance. second trailer I've put this coupler on.

by:

Replace a coupler that was held on with 2 bolts after 1 bolt failed. Love the security and strength this one has with 3 bolts. Have had issues with couple not releasing from the ball. Gets stuck in the locked position.

by:

Completely satisfied and extremely grateful for this item. Very strongly built. We use it on our 3 axle trailer hauling feed for our farm animals.

by:

I would not buy this again (T4855300). I took it off my trailer. I give etrailer 5 stars.
