Rubber Equalizers Absorb Road Shock and Reduce Chucking

Rubber Equalizer Vs Standard Equalizer

Hauling a trailer that's still equipped with standard steel equalizers is bound to produce a less-than-ideal towing experience. This is because those standard equalizers allow the road shock from your trailer to transfer directly to your tow vehicle, resulting in a rough, bumpy ride.

In addition, road shock can put added stress on your trailer's frame, suspension, running gear, and more, all of which can lead to increased maintenance time and cost. It can also cause damage to the contents of your trailer due to constant chucking and jerking. And the last thing you want is for your electronics to be tossed around inside your RV before you set up camp, or for your horse to get jostled around as you bring him home from the show.

These rubber equalizers help to solve those problems. When road shock occurs while hauling your trailer, the rubber inserts absorb and dampen the vibration and bounce, resulting in a less bumpy ride. The inserts also absorb the back-and-forth movement to reduce chucking and jerking so that you don't get thrown around inside your cab.

CRE3000 Rubber Insert

Each of these equalizers also offers up to 3" of up-and-down travel. The more travel your suspension has, the better it is able to compensate for road shock. When you hit a pothole, for example, these equalizers allow your suspension to account for that dip on one side so that the opposite wheels aren't forced to compensate. As a result, you'll get a smoother ride, even when you're driving over uneven campground roads or speed bumps.

Easy Installation

These equalizers directly replace your trailer's factory equalizers, so installation is straightforward. Simply remove the shackle links from your factory equalizer and the shoulder bolt from the frame hanger. Remove the factory equalizer and replace it with the MORryde rubber equalizer.

MORryde Shackle Upgrade Kit

You can reuse your existing hardware with these equalizers, but we recommend using MORryde's suspension upgrade kit (sold separately). Factory shackle links wear out pretty quickly and easily, so replacing them with MORryde's thick, heavy-duty shackle links will save you the time and effort of having to frequently replace them. Not to mention you'll get easy-to-grease bolts and long-lasting bronze bushings with the kit for a totally upgraded setup.

I have not towed with it yet. But the installation went pretty smooth. I also installed the Morryde shackle kit. Everything looks heavy duty. The only thing is that 4 of the wet bolts were too long. I had to add 1/2 inch thick heavy duty washers to pull the Splined end of the bolts in. Shipping was good as always.

Since, I added the Morryde suspension. I also bought new leaf springs. It’s a night and day difference. We just travel from Massachusetts to Myrtle Beach and back. No more trailer sway. I actually had to take tension off my sway bars. It’s a must upgrade. Unfortunately them make everything on these travel trailers so cheep. It’s worth the upgrade.

by:

After 1 year and several trips…awesome!!! However I also installed a”wet” bolt kit and shocks…. W-H-A-T a difference!!! All from etrailer. All trailers should come like this!! 2021 271RL Salem Hemisphere

by:

Installation was simple and straightforward on my Jayco 29re TT. I added the heavy duty shackles with the wet bolts which was also a simple installation. All in all the products preformed as advertised. What a much more smoother ride than in past. Just remember follow the instructions and use proper safety jack stands and wheel chocks!!

by:

What an improvement to my 2012 Jayco White hawk. If you're reading this that means you're thinking about it just do it it's worth every penny to upgrade that suspension. The kit Was fairly easy to install.

by:

So far this was easy to do myself, I replaced Leaf springs, Equalizer and shackle bolts with wet bolts, my kit had 4 bolts to long so I had to get some from a local place. But it came apart pretty easily and when back together almost as easy.I have a 2012 coachmen 281rlds it has the 42 inch spread axles, etrailer got me every thing I need, and Morryde told me what I needed, thank's everyone.

So far its all worth doing, the thing I would suggest is make sure youre axles are Aligned and the angle of your wheels are straight, check youre hangers for cracks.. its nice being able to Grease everything wet bolts kit makes this easy, thanks to everyone at Morryde and etrailer for all the help.

by:

I didn’t realize the junk bushings that the camper manufacturers use and when I pulled the original leaf spring bolts and bushings out, it was obvious they were trashed and had a lot of slip because the cheap plastic bushings had simply worn away. I saw this equalizer unit that added shock absorbing rubber within the assembly and am glad I got it or I would have kept towing with the worn out spring bushings. Before installing this equalizer, I had drawers inside the camper that would pop open during travel and none of that happens with this equalizer so it’s obvious the camper is no longer getting beat on during travel. You can also tell that it goes much better (smoother). Very happy I purchased these. I just wished the rubber in the equalizer would never wear out and eventually need replacement again because I tend to keep my campers for a long time. So I will need to keep an eye on the rubber to know when to replace them again.

by:

The MORyde shock absorbing equalizer with separately purchase shackle kit with wet bolts was a major improvement in the ride of the camper. Items within the camper shifted noticeably less. When I removed the factory equalizer the holes were elongated quite a bit, and two shackles were slightly twisted. I feel that I will not have any issues with this setup. Installed on a 2017 Heritage Glen 282RK with approximately 6000 miles on trailer.

by:

Best equalizers out there. Going over uneven pavement or bumps is a breeze. Inside of the trailer, nothing really moves or bounces around anymore.
Highly recommended to get the morryde wet-bolt kit for this. The old bolts and collars were in bad shape.
The brass collars are so much better than the plastic ones that were in my stock system. See some pics of before during and after

by:

The install was very easy. The equalizer are very well-made. You could feel the difference in the ride of the trailer. I would highly recommend it. It’s an excellent product by Morryde. Thank you trailer for all your help it’s greatly appreciated!

by:

Installed the MORryde 14-3/4 inch Shock Absorbing Equalizers (MR34AR) with 2-1/4 inch Shackle Straps (MR58ZR) in conjunction with repairing failed suspension pickup points on my camper frame. There are some stretches of road that we travel where, before the upgrade, the bumps cause a porpoising that almost put the truck out of control; with the upgraded suspension this makes driving those parts of the road much easier. The ride seams smoother and control better at all places.

by:

Very happy with the quality and fit of these new equalizers! Very easy install with the proper tools. Always be safe one jacking and blocking your trailer!

by:

Shipping was spot on, I received them a day earlier than expected, I haven’t installed yet but the Quality of the parts appear to be very good.

by:

Great heavy duty product that looks well built… the price in the USA is reasonable, and the fact that it is free shipping throughout mainland USA is good as well….. The main gripe I have is the tremendous cost for shipping to Canadian Provinces, which was almost as much as the cost of the product, even though I only live approximately 50-60 miles from Calais Maine…..
It would have been nice to be able to get this product from [online], like so many other Morryde items.

I will be installing this item next week

Cheers from Canada

by:

Should have done this upgrade when I first got my camper in 2018. Keystone 2400BH. Rides so much better.

by:

Great

by:

Equalizers far exceeded my expectations, as did the wet bolt and shackle set. Not yet installed but expect better tracking with these much sturdier parts.

by:

Easy installation and a great ride.

by:

Our Travel Trailer tows like a high end fifth wheel after these upgrades! No more chucking and very smooth across bumps and my wife and I installed it by ourselves in about 5 hrs.

by:

After bending spindles, buying 2 new axles, first the rear axle then the front axle on a 2019 Freedom Express, I ordered the MORyde. 10’s of thousands of miles later, no more bent spindles, and, there was an improved smoother ride pulling. I think the axles are generally under-rated for the dynamic loads and the horrendous roads we travel. The system gave more stability and noticeable less tire wear.

by:

Relatively easy installation. Used bottle jacks and jack stands. Also installed brass bushings with grease zerks. Reduced noise and vibration from suspension. Around 6000 miles since installation. No issues. 2016 passport 2810BH

by:

Received when promised. Product looks great. Etrailer is a great company to deal with.

Good upgrade from my stock suspension, camper tracks better and has less bounce now. Stock plastic bushings now replaced with brass bushings are a great upgrade.

by:

Seems to be durable, they already have metal bushings installed which is cool, now I have extra. etrailer took almost two weeks to ship this product that they had in stock so pay no attention to the estimated arrival dates you see. This was the most frustrating part. Once the item shipped it was here in less than 24 hours which was nice. The equalizer and wet bolts were just installed so i cant say how well they work but they are definitely better that what came from the factory and they installed easy.

by:

I would have given these the highest rating because the product is excellent. The reason for just an average rating is solely because of the customer service or rather lack of customer service. I placed the order for this and 2 additional items to replace the entire suspension on a Passport 3350BH. All items were in stock when order was placed on 1/31/2022 with a delivery date of 02/03/2022. There was a snow storm on 02-03 which delayed the item to the following week which is understandable. However it continued to be delayed until the following week. After my first call I was told the storm had caused a delay. I asked why my order was in a gathering stage for days and then changed to back to order accepted, only response was the snow had slowed them down. After another week of no order, I sent 2 emails with just a standard response of blaming a snow storm 2 weeks prior. I asked several questions on my order which were never answered, I’d have to assume that they just didn’t care to answer or it’s a general email they send to everyone. Long story short the order came on 02/19 which is completely unexceptionable based on a 3 day original ship date. Hard to explain to a customer that a snow storm that we had as well pushed the ship date out 16 days on in stock items.

Makes a huge difference in trailer ride, less noise from springs. Highly recommended!
