Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Video Transcript for CE Smith Boat Trailer Parts - Roller and Bunk Parts - CE10160GA-2 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the CE Smith heavy duty vertical bunk brackets. These heavy duty brackets let you mount a bunk board on your boat trailer. These are ideal for big bunk boards such as a three by eight or a four by eight. They simply stabilize one end of the bunk board. Additional brackets are required for the opposite end of the board. Those are going to be sold separately.

Again, available at etrailer.com. These brackets provide a 90 degree angle for vertical mounting on to a level boat trailer frame. It will require two half inch diameter u-bolts for installation, one u-bolt per bracket. Those are available and sold separately at etrailer.com. I would recommend part number CE15283GA-2. You're going to have three pre-drilled holes on each bracket that's going to let you raise or lower the bunk board during your installation and then you can secure the board vertically on its side between the brackets with a half inch bolt.

That's going to be sold separately as well. These are galvanized steel so there designed to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. They are suit able for salt water exposure. They're made right here in the USA. You're going to get two brackets with this part number. Taking a look at the dimensions real quick, going edge to edge, it's going to measure five inches.

Overall height, it's going to be about six inches tall. The distance between the trailer mounting holes, that would be these holes right here, on center, it's going to be three and 9/16 of an inch. The distance been the bunk board mounting holes, again, there's three of those, those are going to be separated on center apart from one another. Each one looks to be an inch and a half apart from the other. Then the plate thickness is a quarter inch thick steel. That's going to do it for today's look at the CE Smith heavy duty vertical bunk brackets..

Katie was awesome! My trailer is 15 years old & the part numbers I had are obsolete. Katie knows her stuff & was terrific about helping me get what I needed in a single order & not one part was wrong. She asked if I could give her some measurements, so I went out to the trailer with a measuring tape. She told me exactly what measurements she needed for each part & provided a current part number for each part I needed. She speaks very clearly & was happy to share her time & knowledge so I could get the parts across the country. I highly recommend dealing with this company. Thanks, Katie.

All aspects of this transaction were top drawer excellent: the brackets themselves are heavy duty
pieces perfect for my application, and they even came predrilled and exactly accommodated the attached hardware without any additional drilling. Now that's what I call service!

  • Could CE Smith Bunk Bracket be Adapted to Fit Smaller Bracket
Since there isn't a smaller bracket setup for the CE Smith Heavy Duty, Vertical Bunk Brackets # CE10160GA-2 best option might be to use spacers to take up the extra space and provide the tighter fit.

  • Can I Weld the CE Smith CE10160GA-2 Heavy Duty, Vertical Bunk Brackets
Because the CE SMith Heavy Duty, Vertical Bunk Brackets # CE10160GA-2 are galvanized steel, I don't recommend welding them because of the inherent issues that come along with welding on a coated steel. These are designed to be secured to the trailer frame using U-bolts like the # CE15283GA-2, so I do recommend using that method. I've gone ahead and linked our entire selection of u-bolts in case you find that you need something a bit longer, as well.
