Expert Reply:

When choosing tie-downs for your 8,700 lb boat and 2,000 lb trailer, the most important thing is to get tie-downs that have a break strength which exceeds the 2,000 lb weight of your trailer. Doing so will keep your boat on your trailer when you run over the inevitable potholes when driving to your fishing destination.

I recommend checking out the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Bow Tie-Down Strap # IMF14220, Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893 or # IMF14208 and Gunwale Tie-Down Straps # IMF14221. These straps each have a 2,500 lb break strength and will keep your boat secured to your trailer.
