Will BoatBuckle Transom Tie-Downs Work With Boat and Trailer

Question:

My bunk trailer weighs 1175 lbs, my boat 4100. I normally trailer no more than about 4 miles back and forth to the ramp. On occasion I would like to be able to trailer 100 miles round trip, are these straps suitable for my boat? They would also be on when the boat is stored on the trailer

Expert Reply:

The BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17633 have a break strength of 1,200 lbs and since this exceeds the 1,175 lbs of your trailer they will work for you because you must have straps with a break strength that exceeds the weight of your trailer; the next rating up for 6 foot straps would be the BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF106877 which have a break strength of 1,400 lbs.
