Hello, neighbors. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Yakima replacement SKS, or Same Key System Core, for the Yakima Racks and Carriers, specifically number A134. Now folks, this will let you replace or add one SKS Yakima, Same Key System cylinder, to your Yakima product. It's gonna allow you to key like all your Yakima products. Everything here has been engineered.
Very, very high quality. You got the A134 engraved right there under my sticker. The lock core itself, nice metallic material. Very simple product, a direct replacement from Yakima. It does pair with the key sold separately, number A134 as well.
I wanna point out that you do need what's called a Yakima change key to change out these cores. So if you have the keys already and you're just adding more to your system, you need to purchase this change key sold separately. And what it is, is it's just a tool. You simply have to have the core unlocked. You then insert that change key.
It acts like a tool that allows you to put it in and rotate it to lock it into place in the system itself. Once you have that done, then you can still lock or unlock the core, like normal. It is not a master key. It does not lock or unlock anything at all. It's simply a tool that just looks like a key.

These cores are great for replacements, or for matching up locks with existing ones (so you don't have to carry around multiple keys). Easy-in, easy-out with the blank key installer tool. I wish they were less expensive, which is really my only complaint. That is not the seller's fault, as the price seems to be consistent across the board.
It's a replacement core to keep accessories keyed the same. Works great!
These things are a nice way to only have to carry one key for your Yakima things. I put them on my towers so I don't have the whole package disappearing from the roof of my car.
Perfect replacement for lost sks yakima cores and lock housings.
Installation was easy and worked perfec t.
