Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement B wheel tray assembly for the Yakima TwoTimer and FourTimer Bike Racks. Now this part will replace a wheel tray assembly B with the gray wheel strap buckle you can see here, and it fits the Yakima TwoTimer and FourTimer Bike Racks. Those bike racks we do sell separately on our website. One part number is Y02468 and Y02469.
I mentioned this tray because you notice it has the gray buckle. It allows you to pull the wheel strap tight and then push the button to release that strap. Now if you do need the wheel strap, this part does not include the wheel strap. We do sell the wheel strap separately. It's part number Y8880229.
This part here is for a quantity of one replacement B wheel tray assembly with the gray buckle. Now, the reason I say B wheel tray assembly because they do have A and B on the bike racks. And the way to tell that apart is what you'll need to do, let me just zoom in here so we can show you where to look, but if you zoom in real close, if you'll notice where the shank, the shank portion right here, where that goes into the wheel tray itself right here, if you look inside there, you'll see a bump. There's a single bump there. The single bump means that this is a wheel tray B.
If you looked in there and there was two bumps, that would be a wheel tray A. So that's gonna be the easiest way since they don't have any marking on the tray itself, is you need to look in there and see how many bumps are showing. Now, if you do need the wheel tray A, we also sell that separately. That goes by part number of 8880796. But that should do it for the review on this replacement B wheel tray assembly for the Yakima TwoTimer and FourTimer Bike Racks.

This is a legit replacement. I considered replacing all of the wheel trays when I saw this one because it is so nice. The updated strap lock is better than the original. It allows you to release it one handed. At ~$40 apiece I am not going to do that and I will be the loser with mismatched wheel tray. Don’t judge.

There is a "right" handed and "left" handed replacement part. I made sure about the one I needed prior to the order but got the "wrong" one. It is not a deal breaker as it still holds the tire in place (which is it's only job). The bike rack it self has flaws: if you set the rack down with the weight on these replacement parts, it is possible to damage the locking mechanism which is why I ordered the replacement part.

I bought this as a replacement tray after the ratchet strap locking mechanism broke off of the tray. In less than one year, the exact same thing happened to the replacement tray.
This is not a reflection of etrailer, their service was phenomenal. It is a very poor design on the part of Yakima
