Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at a Waist Valve but in particularly the knobs on the end. So a lot of the times, whether you're in a very hot or cold climate, sometimes this plastic can wear away over time. Whether it's just one side breaking off or the whole entire thing. Well, today in this video, we're going to show you how to replace them and all of your options. So with the knob on this particular Waste Valve on the inside, we're only going to have the plastic threads.
I like that just because the valve that I actually took off earlier didn't have that and it was rusted away and I had to end up replacing the whole entire valve. So this shouldn't be too difficult to unthread, but I do find it a little bit easier to use inaudible 00:00:46 pliers to get a good grip on it.Just because we are going to have to twist this completely off. This one isn't going to rust away, obviously, just because it is plastic. So we can either put the brand new one on. But if you just think you're going to run into that same exact situation, Valterra does offer a metal option.
I just recommend if the original one breaks, don't replace it with the same one because it's got a break, you've seen it break. Just grab the metal one, we have it here at etrailer and it is threaded just the same. If you wanted to, you can go ahead and put a little bit of anti-seize on it or something like that, just to make sure because it is going to be metal on metal. If you really don't want it to rust away over time definitely grab that. But pretty much those are your options.

Replaces the metal handle for your Bladex or Valterra old style waste valves.Nice upgrade to something that you don’t worry about until it breaks! The original plastic handles lasted 14 years, so not too bad. With these metal ones, though I won’t ever have to worry that they will break at exactly the wrong time again.
Used small vice grips with a cloth and the shaft pulled out “just” enough to hold with them to unscrew it without actually dumping any thing. So be careful if you still have stuff in your tanks.

Perfect replacement for the old broken plastic one. Shouldn't have any more issues!
Better quality than the original plastic one.
Upgrade to my part that had half of its handle broken off. Super simple locking nut so with pliers its a couple of minute job to replace.
So far so good. Went on easy. Time will tell on the quality. The plastic ones lasted 5 years. I’m hoping I never have to replace these.

They have been great. Got a good test as we lived out of the trailer for 4 months last summer.
Fit perfectly. Much better than the original plastic. One if which broke, hence the replacement. I wish they had gray/silver and black to differentiate. Couldn’t locate, so I bought two gray/silver. Figured I could spray paint the other black when my black water valve handle fails.
So far so good! It's metal, so it should last longer than the plastic one did.
Lubricating the valve with Silicone Lube (as per mfr's directions) seemed to be a big help as well.
I ordered a T handle from etrailer. Got the part promptly, it was what I wanted and installed on my 5th wheel.

The original handle was plastic and broke in half after a year from purchasing our RV. This one is metal and, two years later, is still perfect for us.
Best replacement ever! You don't have to worry about those plastic handles breaking ever again
We purchased this as we lost the handle on our new Camco waste valve. Thread is the same, just needed a backup nut and loctite to ensure it stays this time. Only giving it 4 stars as it feels like pot metal, not a nice steel unit.

Replacement for broken plastic handles, I have no doubt it will last the life of the camper.

Replace the plastic handles before they strip out the threads, with theses metal handles. Valterra makes them because they know the plastic ones will fail sooner or later.
Seams like the factory handles have a tendency to break at the most inopportune time.
