  • When Adding 2-Bike Extension To T2 Bike Rack On 2013 Honda Odyssey Will Rear Hatch Fully Open
The only way to tell for sure if you will be able to open up the rear hatch on your Odyssey is to take a quick measurement. When part # TH55GDis added the distance from the hitch pin hole to the back of the carrier is 64 inches. You can measure the distance form the hitch pin hole to the back of your rack. Subtract that distance from 64 and you can see if the added length will interfere with the hatch opening on your Odyssey.

  • Expansion Kits for Thule T2 Pro X Platform Style Hitch Racks
There are multiple versions of the Thule T2 platform style hitch bike racks. If you have the Thule T2 Pro X # TH83GC then this cannot be installed onto another # TH83GC. In this rack you need to use the special lightweight expansion piece # TH55GC which is much lighter than the actual weight of rack so it is too heavy for use as an extension. In general bike rack add-on expansion kits will use light construction than their similar but independent rack counterparts.

  • 2-Bike Add-On Expansion Kit for Thule TH83GC 2-Bike Hitch Rack
My contact at Thule confirmed that you can indeed use the 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2Pro X # TH55GC along with your 2-bike base rack model # TH83GC. They are fully compatible.

  • Can the Thule T2 Pro X Still Be a Tilting Rack for Access with the 2-Bike Extension and Bikes Loaded
Yes, when you add-on the 2 extra bikes with the Thule T2 Pro # TH83GC to the 2-bike Extension # TH55GC you will still be able to tilt the rack down to gain entry to the hatch. I spoke to my Thule representative and he told me that although you can do it that they don't typically recommend it since the bikes and the rack can weight up to 200lbs going up as well as coming down, which is quite a bit of weight to support for just one person. This is really a two-person job.

  • Is a Thule T2 Pro X Platform Rack and Draw Tite Max Hitch good for a 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon?
This combination is a great fit for the 2016 Outback. The Draw Tite Max Frame, part # 75673 will give a strong base for pulling a number of things including the bicycles and the Thule T2 Pro X Bike Platform Rack, part # TH83GC will provide a good base for multiple bikes. Additionally, you can expand the T2 Pro X by adding an expansion kit, part # TH55GC, which allows for 4 bikes to be carried rather than just two.

  • Availability of Add-On For Thule Pro X Bike Rack to Make it a 4 Bike Rack
Yes, we carry the part # TH55GC which is the add on for the Thule T2 Pro X part # TH23GC to make it a 4 bike rack. This now comes as a kit, part # TH26ZE. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well.

  • High Capacity Platform Bike Rack that Can be Adapted to 4 Bikes
Not with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR, but for a high capacity platform bike rack that is similar the Thule T2 Pro X part # TH83GC can be adapted to 4 bikes with the # TH55GC This rack has a 50 lb per bike capacity but an overall capacity of 160 bikes when carrying 4 of them so some will have to be smaller.

  • Can 2 Bike Add-On Be Used With T2 Pro X for 1-1/4 Hitches?
The reason the 2 Bike Add-On # TH55GC is recommended only for the T2 Pro X for 2" Hitches # TH83GC is because of the differences between Class I, II, and III hitches. Class I 1-1/4" hitches can only hold up to 2 bikes. Not so much because of the weight capacity but more because of the angle and leverage issues of more than two bikes. The add-on is designed for the 2" version # TH83GC and not the 1-1/4" version # TH23GC to prevent people from accidentally loading their Class I hitch with...

  • How to Use Thule T2 Bike Rack While Towing R-Pod Camper
I may have a solution for you, however you will not be able to use the Swagman Straddler # S80503 referenced in your question with your Thule T2 Pro X Class Bike Rack # TH83GC. The primary reason for this is that the Thule T2 Bike Rack is simply not rated for use on a trailer. Because a bike rack mounted on a trailer will be subjected to greater bounce and movement compared to that of a standard passenger vehicle, only certain bike racks are tested and approved for this use. As you also...

  • Comparing the Thule T2 and Yakima HoldUp Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Racks for a 2011 Mazda CX-9
Bike racks are not vehicle specific there are just some that vehicle owners purchase more often for certain vehicles than others. Since you have a 2 inch trailer hitch on your 2011 Mazda CX-9, you can use the Yakima HoldUp, # Y02443. The Thule T2, # TH83GC will also fit. I have linked video reviews of both racks for you. The Holdup has a capacity of 60 pounds per bike and the T2 has a 50 pound per bike capacity. The HoldUp will accept 14 to 29 inch bike wheels. The T2 will accept 20 to...

  • Can I Use the Thule 2 Bike Add On with an Older Thule Classic Style Platform Model 515-5190
I may have a solution for you, but according to my contact at Thule, your older 515-5190 does not have the ability to accept the shank of the Thule 2 Bike Add-On # TH55GC. The only available solution if you needed to carry 4 bikes would be to get a new bike rack and there is a nice option available that can convert from carrying 2 to 4 bikes with an add on platform with the Swagman Quad 2+2 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64FR. The Quad can carry up to 4 bikes weighing...

  • Is There a Version of the Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack that Can be Expanded to a 4 Bike Rack
Only the 2 inch hitch version of the Thule T2 Classic part TH9044 can be expanded to a 4 bike rack with the # TH55GC. The bike rack that comes with the expansion is part # TH26ZE. The 1-1/4 inch hitch version can not be converted to a 4 bike rack.

  • Recommended Lock for Thule T2 Pro X 2-Bike Add On Bike Rack
The 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Classic for 2" Hitches # TH55GC does simply install with the bolts you mentioned that are included. There is not a lock that fits that application. Each tray is simply a bolt on assembly as well, so if you are concerned about theft, I recommend adding a cable lock like the Thule # TH538XT or # e98891.

  • Comparing Kuat Sherpa 2.0 and Thule T2 Pro X Bike Racks
I recommend the Thule T2 Pro X # TH83GC over the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH22B - there really isn't much of a contest between these two. The Sherpa 2.0 definitely looks prettier, but it falls behind to the T2 Pro X on most categories when it comes to fitment with bikes. The only thing the Sherpa 2.0 really has on the T2 Pro X is the integrated cable locks but if you add the Thule Lock Core Kit # TH450200 so the ratcheting arms can be locked. Here is a breakdown of the key features I'm looking...

  • Comparing Thule T2 Pro X vs Thule T2 Pro XTR
The Thule T2 Pro X # TH83GC carries 2 bikes, has a hitch lock but the bike locks are sold separately. It carries bikes up to 50 pound with a max tire width of 3 inches. The distance from the hitch pin to the closest part of the rack is 6-3/4 inches. It fits tires with a wheel diameter of 20" to 29" and with a maximum wheelbase distance of 49 inches. It offers a 2-bike add-on with part # TH55GC. You can buy the rack and add-on together with part # TH26ZE if you think you might carry...

  • Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack For 2016 Hyundai Tucson
I do have some insight for your bike rack questions, but since your hitch will be the first thing that you install on your 2016 Hyundai Tucson let's talk about that first. For your Hyundai, I recommend using the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver # C13240. This hitch has a Gross Trailer Weight of 3,500 lbs and a Max Tongue Weight of 525 lbs, but keep in mind that you need to go by your Hyundai's max tongue weight. My research shows that your Tucson has a tongue weight capacity of 750...
