Great product !!!

I gave your company and especially the sales associate Samantha a diamond star rating for being able pull off for me what many other store and dealers claim was impossible at the time which was acquiring my Thule roof rack system. I am now ready for my kayak fishing season thanks to your team. When the shopping gets tough, find it on etrailer!

by:

The key cylinder fit perfect into my Thule T2 Classic 2 bike hitch. It works well. I feel my bike is secure with this new addition.

We have had this for about a year. Just love how this hangs off a studd in our garage. Its at the right height to hang and pick up to put on the car. It was easy to install. I wish I had another one for my bike rack for non electric bikes.

by:

Had to find a replacement lock cylinder for a used Thule box we bought. Product came ahead of schedule and an exact fit

by:

The product was exactly as described.

by:

The part fit perfectly and it was a great value. I would recommend etrailer.com to anyone.

by:

I’n all honesty, it is well built and performs as described. The negative is its excessive and overwhelming weight. It is impossible for my wife to use.

by:

It works perfectly.

by:

by:

Had to drill out my locks as the previous owner broke both keys in the lock. Replacement was simple afterward and they work without issue.

by:

I was shocked at how easy the cylinder was to replace. Perfect!

by:

I purchased a used Thule roof box which the previous owner had lost keys for the lock. These lock cylinders worked perfectly and were very easy to install.

by:

The Thule bike rack has been great! It’s sturdy, easy to use, and is attached & removed from the hitch relatively easily. It was a great price and I’m very pleased with my purchases!

by:

Exact swap out part.

by:

They were very prompt with letting me know that the locks for a Thule bike rack were not in stock and provided options. When I chose to wait the additional one to two weeks, they were very responsive with updates right up until they were delivered.

by:

Great product. My only concern is that the locks came with no instructions. I found how to install them in the instructions for the Thule bike rack. If I had simply purchased the locks, then I might have been a little frustrated.

by:

Great service from Etrailer on every item I have ordered from them. 2 hitches and a bike rack. Customer service is VERY good in todays world. They have not outsourced customer service! Thank you for that!

by:

Great service!

by:

Great service delivered as promised

by:

by:

The roof rack is performing like a champ.
It is everything we wanted, researched and purchased, with your help off course.
Here are a couple pics from our camping trip last year.
They can be shared anywhere if you like.

by:

Works perfectly on my Thule Wing Bar Evo racks. Feel better knowing that I'm protecting my investment.

by:

Installed today. Installation was extremely easy. It took about one minute per lock to install.

  • Locks for a Thule Frontier ES Cargo Box
The cargo box itself can be locked which would prevent anyone from opening and thus removing the box. If the box is missing its lock you would need a 2-pack of Thule lock cores, # TH450200, which include 2 locks, 2 keys, and the universal change key to install them. A lock cylinder or key that has a part number that starts with an E or an N is correct.

  • Lock Kit Recommendation for Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack
The locking hitch pin of the Thule T2 Classic part # TH9044 or # TH9044-TH9046 comes with a lock core. You'd want the part # TH450200 to give you the two additional lock cores for the arms of the rack and then you'd be set.

  • Missing Key for 2878 Lock Core Number on Sears Sport 20-SV
I reached out to my contact at Thule (they made the Sears roof boxes) and that key number is no longer a replaceable key. If the unit is unlocked you can use the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 2 # TH450200 as replacements. If it is not unlocked you can either call a locksmith to have a key made for your locks or you can carefully drill out the core as drilling too far will damage the carrier.

  • Replacement Lock Cylinder and Keys for a Thule Roof Rack Cargo Box
To replace the missing lock cylinder on your Thule cargo box you can use the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders and Keys, # TH450200. This kit includes two lock cylinders, two keys and a Universal control key that will allow you to insert the new lock cylinder into the box. I added a helpful link to another one of our questions that has a short video and shows how to install the lock cylinder. The process will be the same on your cargo box.

  • Replacement Lock Core for Thule Weekender 627 Cargo Box
So you can add a replacement lock core to your Thule Weekender 627 cargo box, but the lock core does need to be unlocked to be able to use the universal master key and install new lock cores with the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200. It sounds like yours may still be locked, and since you used a key (the right one based on the number - there does not have to be an "N" on front of it), but it doesn't unlock, the only option is to use a locksmith to remove the lock. I have...

  • How to Drill Out Lock Core on Thule Rooftop Cargo Box
To drill out any lock core you want to start off with a small drill bit (tungsten carbide-tipped or cobalt drill bits work best) and then work your way up in drill bit size until the lock core is released. We don't have any videos of this but it's fairly straight-forward. Prior to drilling out the core though you might try using some small tools to try to get enough of the key worked back out so you can grab it with some needle nose pliers. • Troubleshooting a Thule Helium 2 Bike Rack Stuck in Trailer Hitch
The Thule Helium can be a little tricky to operate its anti-rattle and anti-theft knob, because of the construction. To replace the lock cores in your Sportrack (which is owned by Thule) carrier, the key does have to be removed in order to install new Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200. The reason for that is you have to use the master key in order to remove the lock cylinder, and the broken key would of course block you from doing that. The only thing you can do is drill out the lock core or have a locksmith come and drill it out for you to ensure your carrier isn't damaged.

Try wiggling the key out using the paperclip along the ridged side of the key. I have had luck in the past using dental picks to work broken keys out of a lock cylinder. If enough of the key stem is protruding from the lock, you could also try grasping the key with needle nosed pliers and removing it that way.
