Hey there, Swagman owners. Today, we're taking out a replacement horizontal cross rail for your Swagman XC series bike racks.Now we don't like to think about it, but accidents can happen. Whether you we're in a rear end car collision with your bike rack in place, or you dropped your bike rack, and something happens to the cross rail here, that's no reason to go and buy a whole new bike rack when you can just swap out parts. We sell plenty of replacement bike rack parts here. And today we're going to show you how to swap out your cross rail so you can get your bike rack up and running again.Now this isn't something you would have done when you assembled your bike rack, because this part comes pre-assembled on your bike rack, but it's very simple to do. You only need a 14 millimeter socket and wrench, and there's just a bolt here, and a nut on the other side.
And you can crack that loose. As we take this loose, you will want to keep track of the pins that are attached to it on the lanyards, because we will be reinstalling those.As you get close that nut's going to come off, you can lift up a little, pull out that nut. And now your arm is free. We're going to go ahead and remove our hoops and transfer them over. If you we're in an accident and something happened to your hoops, we have replacement hoops as well.
You can go ahead and pick those up here at etrailer, but if it's just your arm you're concerned about we can reuse your hoops. Go ahead and slide them off the back here and we'll be moving them over to the new rail.Now it also comes with a new set screw here on the end. I find it's easiest to get that installed before you re-install your new rail just because you can have it on the ground instead of on the bike rack when you're screwing it in. So if you do put that on first, then it's easier to come to the other side to install your loops. And we'll reinstall those.
Make sure they go on opposite sides.And then we can bring it into place here. When you're ready to reinstall your arm I find it's easiest to get it installed if you hold it vertically, and get that bottom hole lined up. You are going back in that bottom hall. Reinstall your lanyards if you took them off. It does not come with a new bolt.
So keep that in mind. Let me just go back and tighten it down with our socket and wrench.You don't have to get crazy tight with it because this is kind of a pinch point. If you get it too tight, you won't be able to rotate this down. You want to be able to rotate it back down. Once you've got it rotated back down, just make sure your ball detent pin passes back through. And you got yourself a new arm. Your bike rack's ready to roll. You can hit the road, enjoy your bike rack for years to come.And that completes our look at the replacement cross rail for your Swagman XC series bike racks.

Needed a couple replacement parts for our bike rack following a fender bender. Went on line, ordered parts from e-trailer and they came 2 days later. The repair cost 1/4 the cost of a new rack! I wish every on line company made things this easy! Great experience! Highly recommend!
The XC Cross Bar (S64663) for my Swagman bike rack was 1" longer than my original one, but it works thanks
Four stars only because the main fitting is secured with a nut rather than a clip. So to remove it you need a wrench or VERT strong fingers
