Hey, everyone. It's Evangeline. And today, we're taking a look at our replacement wheel hoops for your Swagman XTC bike rack right here at etrailer.com. It happens, wear and tear. Maybe you broke off part of your wheel hoop or slid it out too far and lost it, and you need a replacement part for your Swagman XTC bike rack. Or I don't know if you knew this but you can actually use these wheel hoops to upgrade your Swagman XC2.
That way, you can have the included strap for extra traction. Whatever the reason is, we have those replacement parts here at etrailer.com. So, if you're gonna be replacing your old wheel hoops, the first thing you need to do is take a small Phillips head screwdriver and take out this screw. That way, you'll be able to slide your wheel cradles off. You're actually gonna get two of these replacement wheel hoops.
So, if you need to replace your entire system, plan accordingly. If you just need another one for one bike, this is what it's for. So go ahead, take off that old one, and slide this new one in. We're only upgrading one side of our Swagman XC2 here. So, you can actually see the difference between the two different hoops.
Set them to the wheelbase you need your bikes to be and then tighten down those knobs. Don't forget to put that screw right back in before you hit the road. And that was it. It's super easy to replace the wheel tray of your Swagman XTC bike racks or even upgrade your XC2 bike racks to have that extra strap and taller wheel hoop. Just make sure that your shank for your wheel tray is about an inch and an eighth of an inch square, and then you know it will fit.

I have a mountain bike with dual suspension. I also have the swagman xc2 with original wheel hoops. My mtb didn't sit well in the original hoops so I bought these ones which are a PERFECT FIT. Now I can confidently put a road bike and mtb on my bike rack

It is a sturdy product that has been holding up well for the last year. I keep my rack in the garage until I need it, then it goes on the back of my car, van, or RV when needed. The new hoops seem stronger than the original equipment and have a new angle that keeps the bike slightly higher off the road a good thing when pulling into a driveway.

Doesn't fit the bar and moves with road vibration but it's not the original equipment. I solved that problem by strapping on some zip ties. Works fine!
We are very satisfied users of the Swagman XTC bike rack and customers of etrailer. The rack and replacement parts are excellent products, and the reasonable price and speedy delivery are great!

Changed the wheel hoops on my Swagman XC2 bike rack to extend the largest wheel base from 52" to 64" just by changing the hoops! Great way to make my rack work for me rather than buying another one when this one was still in mint condition. And eTrailer service has been outstanding. I'm glad they stock parts for Swagman racks!

Product was as described. This was a replacement part for our existing bike rack, and fit the rack. The part was shipped the same day it was ordered and arrived as scheduled two days later. Two status emails were sent.

Bike rack works well. Troubled that rust has developed around the holes in the rack and the metal pegs that go thru them to hold the rack in place to hold the bikes.

After a backing-up accident, I damaged not only my bike, but also the right bar and wheel support on my bike rack. I assumed that I would have to buy another rack, but found that I could purchase the two damaged parts from etrailer.
The rack is as good as new, and I use it quite often.

I've owned a Swagman XTC 2-Bicycle Rack since 2013 and have used it for many local and long-distance hauls. It was easy to assemble and to use, and it has been reliable. Although I have not given this piece of equipment the TLC that it deserves, it has held up well. When, due to a stupid error in dismantling one of the cradles, I had to order a replacement, I was able to purchase it at a very reasonable price and had it shipped to me very quickly. I still think this bicycle carrier was a great investment -- especially for the price -- and would recommend it confidently to anyone interested in a light-weight easy-to-use carrier.
I Would never buy this again. It has rusted and the button to release the bikes gets stuck often so I carry a tool that helps to put pressure on it to open it. I mtn. bike a lot so keep the rack on my car. Wish I had spent the extra money and bought a heavy and sturdy rack like a Kuat or a One Up. However, if you ride infrequently and will be taking the rack off every time you use it, you may have better luck. You get what you pay for here....cheap price, cheap product.
I ordered these to replace the oval loops of the Swagman XC2, after having my $2500 mountain bike shoot off the rack as I went around the corner. The front suspension on the bike gave just enough for the tire to start coming out of the oval, and with the top bar of the bike on an angle, it became loose and shot off the rack. After that I started adding a nylon strap from the handlebar stem of the bike back to the center upright of the bike rack and adding a strap around the front tire and oval loop of the XC2.
Had to replace this bar following a slight accident backing up the vehicle on which the full bike rack is installed. The rack held up very well, all things considered. Just had to replace two pieces, which was the more economical choice vs buying a whole new rack. Have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS. Shipping expedient, customer service on the ball with excellent follow up without being prodded. The item is exactly as explained and was very easy to install-- only took a few minutes to get the bike rack back to new condition. I will copy this exact review for part #SP478 that also needed replacement related to this repair. Don't hesitate to buy from or deal with this company!
The hoops have been a perfect ad on to my Swagman Bike Rack they are long enough for my Easy Racer recumbent and my tandem.

Do u have the xc2 or xtc?i have the xc2 bike rack and thinking to buy just the xtc wheel hoop for a longer wheelbase for my tandem bike.what is your tandem wheelbase?just for preferences.thank you
I absolutely love my bike rack for so many reasons including putting our sandy beach chairs on it, attaching our baby jogger etc. Someone backed up into my car the other day and bent one of the arm hoops. They of course did not leave their name but at least they also did not hit my car. Easy, cheap fix to purchase new wheel hoops! They do come in pairs and I only needed one, but hey if it happened to me once, it will happen again. And who knows maybe the extra hoop will fit on the rack and make itself useful.

Didnt know until daylight that I had a problem.
We were on our way to Cape San Blas Fl for a month,
Found a Guy in Appalachacola Fl about 30 miles east.
Damage was front wheel was gone. Called Bike Line in Carmel, In and they ordered a new front wheel and some small parts. Shipped to Appala------
Talked to James and ordered wheel hoops and a bar that the hoops fit on.
Bike and Bike Rack are ready for pick up today.

I bought these to replace the default tire hoops on my recently purchased swagman xc-2 bike rack. I own a 29" wheeled bike and the default tire hoops while good, didn't leave me feeling confident enough for my type of bike, when taking corners in my car. I purchased these and literally received them 10 minutes ago. I took off the default tire hoops and installed these. Very easy to install, like they were meant for this rack. The tire hoops do not accomadate the wider tire size as the default tire hoops that came with this bike rack. I have a 29"x2.6" Maxxis Rekon for front tire and it fits snuggly, but not difficult to get in and out of this tire hoop, be mindful of this before ordering these or get the tire hoops meant for "fat bike" tires. I love the straps that secure the wheels of the bike. I now have 3 securing points of contact vs. 1.

Our Swagman bike ak replacement parts are doing great after 1.5 t=years of frequent use. No rust, no significant wear and tear, no bending. The rubber is still in great shape.
This was a replacement part for our swagman bike rack that got crushed by our truck. The customer service was excellent!! I spoke with customer service and they worked with me to make sure it was shipped so that I had it before I left for vacation and in the cheapest way possible.
The Swagman XTC2 bike rack is awesome too, which I also purchased through etrailer.
This is a great bike rack, easy to use and well constructed. We had to buy a replacement set of the wheel hoops because someone apparently decided we didn't need one! We have now placed bolts thru each end of the bars so the wheel hoops can't readily slide off. That's the only recommendation I would make to the manufacturer.
The bike rack part I ordered showed up as they said it would and the telephone support was great. What I liked most about it is that the newer version is actually better made than the original was so I suspect it should last much longer. I will likely order another for the other side of the rack.
Had to order replacement wheel hoops for my swagman xtc 4 bike rack. They were exactly the same as the original parts. Installed them and the bike rack looks like new. etrailer.com was very easy to order from. Received the parts in 2 days along with free shipping. I will order from etrailer again if I need to.
