Today we're going to be taking a look at the "Phoenix Faucets 4-Inch Dual Handle RV Shower Valve." This unit can be installed as a replacement for an exterior shower valve or it can be used for indoor use. Now, the way that it comes, it's going to come assembled for outdoor use. That's the way it's intended to be installed, with this pointing up. If you want to use it for indoor applications, the breaker would be pointing down and then you would just need to switch the hot and cold water knobs. It's going to feature the dual smoke knobs. It gives the unit a very nice look. It's got the vacuum breaker outlet for attaching a handheld shower, if your handheld shower is not included.

The unit is designed to prevent water backflow, which is going to help prevent contamination of your fresh water supply. The unit's made from a durable plastic construction. The base is black in color. The knobs, right here, for the hot and cold water, got a nice easy-grip design, very easy to use and rotate. The mounting area does require 2 holes for installation. These are your hot and cold water connectors.

They're going to be separated on center by 4 inches. They're going to give us a length measurement of around an inch-and-a-half long. Outer diameter on those connectors is around 13/16ths of an inch. Inner diameter is around half-an-inch. The shower hose connector's going to give us an outer diameter of 13/16ths of an inch.

The overall length, measuring from edge to edge of the unit, we're looking at around pretty close to 6 inches, maybe 6-and-1/8th. Just measuring the base, right here, is going to be about 2-and-1/8th. Then, from the back of the base to the outermost point of the hand knobs, we're looking at about 3 inches. Pretty simple installation. It's going to come with a backing plate and it's going to come with the threaded mounting nuts. The unit's also going to come with detailed installation instructions to walk you through the process.

In the instructions, it's going to indicate the size hole that you need at the mounting surface, which on this diagram it shows a 1-inch diameter hole. You're going to need 2 of those separated on center by 4 inches. If you're installing it inside, it's going to need to be positioned about 45 to 48 inches above the floor line. It just goes through the installation. On this side, it's going to have some operating instructions, some cleaning tips, some helpful hints and just some cautions to be aware of.
